I loved their last remark. Don’t here much about Palmer these days. The Cure they’re still doing it ❤❤❤

Once heard Robert Smith say "It's simple really but you've gotta have the songs". Man do they have 'the songs'.

The full video of this show needs to be uploaded. It's an amazing faith tour show. Totally worth finding on cd.

Another version of this does exist, with Funeral Party and A Forest (re-broadcasted by belgian television in 2000). I'm still searching for that video.

😍🤤🤭🔥💯💖💗 I love Robert Smith's voice, the timbre of his voice is so tender and rocking.

I think I read somewhere that Robert Palmers crew actually kicked their asses afterwards. I guess mr. Palmer wasn't amused with the long end, the final remark also didn't help :P But damn, they were so good back then! Still my favourite line-up, Lol Tolhurst wasn't the most technically accomplished drummer by a stretch, but he obviously didn't get the respect he deserved. His playstyle fitted their sound so well.

Do you know all he says? I can only understand “it’s time to make a slow song fast” and “such a long end”

I saw them here in new zealand, Dunedin, in 1980, there was about 500 drunk students, rainy night, the sound system was crystal clear, Incredible, they played a Forest and blinded the audience with blue lights couldn't see a dam thing

Wow!..... Great time to have seen them and a rare show at that.... Do you have an audio of that show?
@LONEEAGLE_space_rockАй бұрын
@@TravisBickle1963 no, but there are gigs from the Australian leg of the same tour. I bought the album seventeen seconds in a department store, I consider the album a minimalist sonic Masterpiece. But back then the context was so different, the post punk scene was just starting to gain a foothold, it sounded very new, ground -breaking. Punk had broken down all musical barriers and hundreds of bands were emerging, anything seemed possible. The scene was perfectly synchronised and with us being in our 20s, Incredible, the 80s were phenomenal

They didn't play near me until late 1981 and I can't say I enjoyed it that much.... Would love to have seen them that bit earlier as it would've been my perfect setlist.
@LONEEAGLE_space_rockАй бұрын
@@TravisBickle1963 did they have Mathieu Hartley on keyboards, they did when I saw them, but maybe he had gone when you saw them in 81.

You're absolutely correct! and from those days in the 80's when I thought Werchter was German because it sounded German (to me anyway) but now I'm older and more knowledgeable (well I have Google) so I know Werchter is in Belgium and the programme itself was broadcast on Dutch TV and here's A Forest in better quality... Enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ6Yf317q72eiq8
