Hey Matt.I recently reconnected with this song and i can play it on the acoustic Guitar, but i thought it may not cut it as there are some major synth lines that i thought were so integral to the song,that maybe i was flogging a dead horse. You have shown me that it can be done.With soul and panache. You have a similar voice in tone to mine (You are superior to me though. Ha ha) so i am going to nick some of Your phrasing.Robert Smith sings it Beautifully with a very fragile melody at times, and i was having difficulty interpreting it in my style. Thank You Mate.

It's just Am with a hammer on the third fret of the b string, then an G (played like an open F maj with no high E string) with a similar hammer on the b string fifth fret, then slide that same shape back to open F maj with a hammer on b string third fret. The progression in the chorus shifts to F maj, G maj, Am. He is playing in a different tuning though but those are the chord shapes and basic flourishes...

Yeah... he's tuned his guitar down 2 steps to DGCFAD probably to suit his voice... easier than trying to transpose the Am to a Gm etc. and play the flourishes
