I was just talking about his career being weird! George Washington, Pineapple Express, Stronger, and Halloween?!?!?! I honestly wish I could have his career, he’s bounced back so many times and dipped in so many genres! The point about cinephiles being able to like Step Brothers over Stalker is so true but most people don’t think that way!

Great video! I feel like David Gordon Green doesn’t get as much love as he should. I’m always excited to see what he’s up to. His willingness to take chances and try new things is inspiring. I’d imagine he grows as a filmmaker quicker when tackling different genres and styles rather than sticking to the same thing. If I ever had the vision and passion to become a filmmaker I’d want to be as ballsy as Green. After hearing his off camera direction in the Eastbound and Down outtakes, I was 100% convinced he was the genius behind what made that show so goddamn funny.

At the premiere of Pineapple Express(or His Highness) , David's dad said “We've moved from the arthouse to the outhouse. "

This video is only missing his stellar directing on the Vice Principals series which was a masterclass.

David Gorden Green is one of my favorites. Snow Angels and Pineapple express are two insanely different movies

Agreed, when you like a popcorn movie, doesn't mean your taste is bad. We have to appreciate every form of cinema. Because art, is for yourselves.

His early films about family dysfunction in country towns rang true had value, go back to revealing what’s hidden and not talked about in country towns with humour and perhaps the comedy

Sorry but... A 92% rotten tomatoes score doesn't mean that the film is 92% great, it just means 92% of the critics who reviewed it thought that it was either just fine or good to great. I wouldn't use a Rotten tomatoes number to talk about a film's quality.
@TwoBeFrank6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Kulubi true but still, to have 92% of the total critics that reviewed your film at least think it’s above average isn’t an easy task. It may not measure the quality of the film but for it to please most people would be exciting
@andrewwashiku6 жыл бұрын
Frank_Staggs yeah it is exciting but i don't think it's the correct measure for critical acclaim especially since stronger is considered pretty average in most of the reviews in rotten tomatoes and metacritic. George Washington being the one with most overwhelmingly positive reviews. Sorry, i just have a major issue with RT.
@TwoBeFrank6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Kulubi yeah I get you, I’m not saying it’s accurate by any means and I don’t like how misleading it can be. It should be if everyone gave it an 8/10 it should be an 80% not 100% But I’ll say this, if I made a movie that got a high percentage on RT I’d flaunt that shit all day
