Thank you for your honesty and for lightening up the conversation... there is no "one size fits all" method! Your hair is beautiful. Love your channel & IG! xoxo

Personally, I think the cg method should be seen more as a guideline than actual rules to follow. I still occasionally use products with some "nasties" because they give my hair a little volume boost as its so flat. There are a few things also that have become clearer recently with the method - deep conditioning is not needed and low-poo's are not cg, any cleansing product that leathers is not cg friendly. Completely agree with you on the cg groups though, so many of them you can't join or post unless you do things a certain way, hell a few months back one group I'm in went a bit crazy because of a photo of a girl with braids. But there are times when the groups do provide support when you're struggling with people making negative comments about your hair

Sam Gilley thanks for your thoughts! I think people take it way to serious sadly! However deep conditioning is deffo a must for those with corser dryer hair in my opinion deffo something I swear by 😍

Love the video, just wanted to point out, Lorraine Massey- whilst very proud of her past, has not been with or affiliated with Devacurl for over 6-7 years, the Devacut is not what lorraine does or teaches- her method is curl by curl, and many Devacurl products are not Curly Girl Friendly. She works independently now with her new range CurlyWorldLLC and her new salon in tirbacca New York SpiralXYZ. Lorraine is now focusing on education internationally(ESP in the uk!!)

I am wavy/curly and I have to harshly cleanse my hair with a sulfate due to a scalp condition, to keep the medicated shampoo at bay mostly. I condition or mask twice after washing because of this and it works! It's called the WCC method. I do oil rinse & do the LOC/LCO method, but the rest (no sulfates, no silicones), I do not follow! For me, I always say it's about what your hair (& scalp) wants, not what you want for your hair.

I do use shampoo every 2nd or 3rd wash and cowash in between. For reference I have long 2c/3a colour treated hair. I use a lot of shea moisture, liz earle haircare, PK elastisizer, macademia mask etc. I only use the gentle shampoos and loads of conditioner and leave ins. I am perimenopausal and the hot flushes and night sweats mean I need shampoo. I have eczema so I don't have an oily scalp and I have dry hair. I let it air dry as much as possible, but I hate crispy hair with loads of gel (for me). As with any hair/beauty regime no one thing suits everybody. Best wishes.
