On March 25, 2019, the Polyclinic - Bach Mai Hospital Branch 2 in Phu Ly City, Ha Nam province officially started its operations, welcoming its first patients for examination and treatment. At that time, the completion of phase 1 of the Bach Mai Hospital Branch 2 project only ensured outpatient and initial emergency services. Cases requiring inpatient treatment or specialized procedures would be transported free of charge to Branch 1 in Hanoi.
Bach Mai Hospital Branch 2 project has a scale of 1,000 inpatient beds, catering to around 5,000 daily examinations, covering a total construction floor area of 118,941m2, with 1 basement and 6 above-ground floors. When completed, it will be a modern, comprehensive hospital for treating complex diseases in specialties such as cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, urology, respiratory, etc.
On December 13, 2014, the construction of Bach Mai Hospital Branch 2 commenced in Liem Tuyen commune, Phu Ly City, Ha Nam province. The total investment for the project was 4,990 billion VND, with construction expected to take place from 2014 to 2017. After 9 years of construction, the exterior is basically completed, with beautiful paint and well-maintained landscaping inside the hospital.
During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital was repurposed as a field hospital to treat COVID-19 patients in the Ha Nam region and neighboring provinces. To date, construction implementation tasks have reached a high level of completion, around 80-90%. However, there are still challenges in the process of settlement and finalization for these projects. The winning bid for Bach Mai Hospital 2 was 1,990 billion VND, but the estimated payment is 2,430 billion VND (an increase of 440 billion VND).
It is reported that on June 12, a working group from the Ministry of Health convened to review the difficulties and challenges of the project.
Regarding its location, Bach Mai Hospital Branch 2 is situated on National Highway QL21B in Liem Tuyen, Phu Ly City, Ha Nam province. This location is very convenient for transportation, with the CT01 Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway nearby, connecting Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and other surrounding provinces. The road network is dense, providing smooth traffic day and night.
Infrastructure and population in this area need no introduction. There are wide roads, a growing population from the city center to Lam Ha, Liem Chung, Liem Chinh, and Liem Tuyen. Highway 68 connects these areas, passing through the Nam Cao University complex, FPT University, and the Dong Van 3, 2, 1 industrial zones.
The surrounding population is quite dense, with many people moving from the city center to suburban areas. In the video, I captured the area using a drone, and you can see numerous houses being built. The affluence of Phu Ly is evident with the emergence of castles and villas.
