@@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562 Yeah but that's the thing. It's so hard to compare one fed to another. Especially like Ipf compared to some backyard federation. Some people might say I'm an elitist or what ever but honestly I don't think ipf standard meets should be compared to any other, I don't even care if the ipf lift is heavier like it is for Taylor Atwood for example. The rules, judging, equipment etc are so far apart its just seems stupid to compare the two.
@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562
@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562 5 жыл бұрын
@@Edgarisftw thats good and well and i semi agree with you but you just cant call yourself a powerlifter then if you only recognize the IPF. I agree with everything your saying and i think powerliufting needs to be more regulated. Standard weigh in time Same Bars across all feds which i belive should be DL Bar Squat Bar Power Bar Calibrated comp spec plates All squats Walked out All judging held to a standard get rid of the dumb IPF rules like shirts on under singlets. feet flat, head flat. Which really have ZERO reason to be a fucking rule Unfortunately this will probably never happen so the leats you can do is hold yourself accoutnable and to a standard. IN the grand scheme tho IPF has some really dumb rules and isnt the only strict federation
@Edgarisftw
@Edgarisftw 5 жыл бұрын
@@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562 I'm not saying the other feds don't mean anything or that I only recognize IPF. I'm just saying that it's not fair in any way comparing different totals performed in different feds, for example Ray Williams total tend to be compared alot to untested wrapped, deadlift bar totals. There is plenty of lifters that previously competed IPF/USAPL and did not perform nearly as well as they do now that they switched federations (Yuri Belkin, Ben Pollack, John Haack).
@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562
@zachthetrashpowerlifter1562 5 жыл бұрын
John haack was successful in the IPF just FYI and obviously comparing wrapped to sleeves is dumb because it’s a different category but you can compare a raw sleeved total in RPS to a total in The IPF sand it is by all means fare as long as the lifts were judged properly you can’t just blanket statement say that you can’t compare IPF to anything. You have to take it case by case

I'm fat having a decent time losing fat...whether you trying to get big or lose fat ( "lose" weight term can be use muscle or fat) try diets..you want to get big 80%diet 20% gym. focus on carbs ..want to lose fat 85% diet 15% gym regardless for gym excercises try compound works outs...deadlift squats pulls ups(helping machine is fine)..I lost 50 pounds last year 2018 and that put me at 250. Got a new job and now work 10pm to 7 am messed me up went up to 320lbs started working out mostly dumbells pullups deadlift minimal cardio good OMAD diet down to 290 in about a month. Also when you lose about 30-40 pounds or gain a good amount of muscle mass a nice tan works wonders for looks. Best of luck

So do the sleeves matter when squatting?

Does it make a big difference when you are wearing sleeves ?
@dagan8659
@dagan8659 5 жыл бұрын
he doesn't mean the shirt sleeves, he mean the support you see they wear on their knee, is not a big help, and it's way harder squat with them and belt(it's called raw but raw can mean even knee wraps+belt), than with knee wraps and belt, even easier when they have suit+knee wraps+belt.(gear)

i see people complaining about dwarves having a short ROM; yet i dont see people complaining about nba players having the physical advantage of height in basketball, instead they're praised. why should this be any different? god forbid in their difficult lives they actually find an advantage.

Incorrect. Stanaszek squatted 290kg in the 123 division. Booker was 132. Also Kevin Oak did 837lb.

Can you do tested and untested feds. Cause that amit guy squats so fucking high and if you're gonna use a monolift might as well be using wraps. Appreciate the videos.

I don’t think monilifts make that big of a difference for lower weight classes but 275+ lifters defiantly benefit squat bar would help Ray so much

So in powerlifting, is the range of motion for the whole squat just past a 90 degree bend at the knees?

ROM is just how far your body moves to do the lift. What youre asking is depth, so yes your thighs should be parallel with the ground for it to count

I’m still terrified if that ray Williams squat would have failed what would have happened. Squatting Over 1000lbs with no safety straps/guards and a couple of dudes that look to struggle benching 225 they would be smashed if he couldn’t get it

@MellonVegan

All of these were done either in the IPF worlds, the affiliate US nationals or nationals and worlds in THE major federations for untested lifting. The only one I'm not sure about is Sapir's first squat, dunno what meet that was. If you want stricter judging, you really have to look at the IPF world records and nothing else. And tbh, not the heavyweights even there.
