When Mr. Dan Blankenship dug out Borehole 10X in the early-1970's and encountered a cavern at the bottom at a depth of 235 feet, subsequent photographic evidence revealed that a significant operation had apparently occurred deep beneath Oak Island in the very distant past. One can only assume that the sea level surrounding Oak island was much lower back then and the cavern(s) was dry and accessible from shoreline entrances which are now underwater.

Remember that time they found one speck of evidence that was more likely related to a treasure than related to artifacts from the known human activity, of sectioning off, clearing, farming, building/tearing down, and living on that island ? Nobody else remembers it either.
@notmyname38836 ай бұрын
What? What part of settling an island includes tunneling 70 feet below ground and constructing massive wooden framing to uphold the tunnel? I missed that. Oh, okay, MANHATTAN. As a big city they had to tunnel so they could bring in the necessities of life in such a metropolis. But this island has been largely unoccupied over the centuries. WHY would they have built a stone road? For what purposes? What about the offshore stone monuments? What part of normal "settling" of a place does that take up? This is UNREAL, to be sure.
@UseByDate-Expired6 ай бұрын
What part of NOT ONE SPECK OF EVIDENCE is too far over your head to understand? A voice , talking to total idiots, saying, "could it be", and "if so, could it be", is literally asking if something that isn't, could be. But of course, a fool would call that evidence. And hundreds have lived, yes lived there, built houses, barns, leveled fields, took in supplies from, wait for it..... BOATS. wooden boats that get, wait for it again......... REPAIRED.. @@notmyname3883
@UseByDate-Expired6 ай бұрын
The only evidence of tunneling is stories, or dug by treasure hunters. Not even that stupid stone with the writing has ever been authenticated.. And before some mouth breather says again, it was found, stories, and old pictures of a tablet, proves nothing@@notmyname3883 But you know so much, you have some secret knowledge, name one thing they found that is more likely treasure, than trash. every inch of that island was sectioned off, fenced, homes built and rebuilt over time. As far as your questions, you made my point for me, just like that stupid show asks, "what if" and, "if so, what if" questions, as evidence, I never laughed so hard. Fun sidenote: That Island HAS had people living on, and going to and from it, for centuries. And digging tunnels with wood supports, looking for treasure . Also, wooden ships get repaired out of the way of .. wait for it, the mainland dock, 100 yards away. And, finding a wood core sample, and a narrator building a city of tunnels from it, with "could it be" questions, is not evidence of anything except audience stupidity.

@@UseByDate-Expired This show is an "Entertainment" Reality TV show and NOT a bona fide Documentary on the subject of the Oak island mystery. Anything substantial found on the island prior to this TV show is generally not mentioned. Two coin caches were found over a century ago near Smith's Cove with coins dated in the 1100's or 1200's but, like everything else found on Oak Island, they mysteriously disappeared from Oak island and were historically never mentioned because it didn't fit the pirate treasure narrative. That's why prior searchers blew up the large inscribed rock that contained the H-O stone fragment because "they" believed that pirate treasure lie buried beneath it. And the H-O stone is also mysteriously missing and nobody knows where it is. Fortunately, there is film footage and also photos of the H-O stone to prove its existence.

So close to what exactly?? They've been doing this for 11 seasons, just with this show and another 150 plus years! and found NO treasure - infact why did any of the past human activity, whatever it was, have to involve treasure anyway? It was always just a great story. Nobody has ever found anything sadly, other than proof that people have inhabited the island. This crew has drilled dozens and dozens of holes and over the decades there have literally been hundreds of holes drilled in the area with NOTHING found. I like the show too, but I hate to state the obvious, but there is NO treasure! The plausilbe explanation is perhaps some sort of old mining site? That explains away almost everything in a logical way - mienshafts, roads, wharfs, buidlings, wells, smelting pits, oz shoes, pottery . . . . If you're going to bury a secret treasure would you build a big wharf system and a stone road system and a bunch of other stuff for people to help see and to prove you were there, or would you make it look like no one was ever there in order to keep your treasure truly secret? Flood tunnels - come on, it's and island, the ground water level might be 20' down at the most? Think about it?? The rest is just 'reality' TV nonscense and good story telling. It's entertaining and somewhat educational, other than that, nada. Again, why did any of the activity on this island ever have to relate to treasure?

I can’t believe these guys are still at it! I don’t think there’s any treasure. However, if they’re having fun keeping digging!

The whole show is a massive stretch. They find a rusty nail among tons of stone and it’s all the evidence needed for another dig. If accessing all of these shafts is difficult now, why would they have been dug centuries ago?He is blowing his family fortune on an obsession

This whole thing started, allegedly, from finding a pully left on a tree limb. If you stashed something, you would not leave such a clue. On the other hand, if you retrieved the stash, you might leave the pully, as too much work to take down," lets just get out of here".

Of interest, Mr. J. Hutton Pulitzer, an Oak island expert, has stated that he believes that the story about the pulley hanging on a tree limb above the Money Pit was made up (i.e. not true).

I have a feeling the treasure was excavated by Samuel Ball. They did say he went from being a farmer to living on oak island and becoming one of the wealthiest men in Nova Scotia. He definitely found the original tunnels and made off with most if not all the treasure. The coins and lead cross and barter tokens were left by the original depositors, but that doesn't necessarily mean there's actual treasure left to find. The real treasure for the team is the thousands of dollars they each get paid per episode whether they find anything or not. And Marty owns a prominent construction company and is in his own right, a multi-millionaire. Whether they find the treasure or not, they're still getting paid handsomely. Also, any company they bring in to do the work, they get a nice free advertisement for their business while also getting paid by the producers and Marty for the work. I actually refer to the show as 'The Curse of Broke Island', 'The Curse of Choke Island', and 'The Curse of Smoke and Mirrors Island'. But hey, that's just me 😅

If Sam was that wealthy, then his family would be wealthy after he died, but they weren't, All they inherited was some land and furniture..
@armyveteran6 ай бұрын
@karenfyhr2363 not necessarily true. He could've done anything with that wealth, could've donated it to any number of institutions without his family being privy to it. We don't know his families dynamic, but what we do know is that he went from being a poor farmer to being one of the wealthiest men in Nova Scotia and I assure you it wasn't from being a farmer 😅

If it takes this long and this much money just to get down there. I think the whole treasure was used up just to build the treasure cavity. Reason there will be nothing there.

Ok hear me out say they made it to tunnel entrance but wouldn’t after all these centuries the tunnel be collapsed from all the rain over time that seeped down to that level and rotted all the old wood that was bracing the tunnel for centuries they would have to dig horizontally and brace it as they going along
