one piece of cursed media I missed on the iceberg is 'Destati', a song composed by Yoko Shimomura for the Kingdom Hearts games. according to Shimomura, whenever they tried loading the chorus for use in other songs, something bad would happen; most notably the power to the entire building went out after an attempt to load the chorus. I've never heard of the Destati Curse striking after the release of Kingdom Hearts 1, though the full track wasn't used in any game until very recently. more of a funny curse than a serious curse.

The King in Yellow shouldn't really be on this list. It's a book about a book that ends up being mentioned in each story where tragedy strikes. It's really good and doesn't leave the reader feeling any weird or creepy/cursed way. It's like watching the movie I think called "The book of life" which is a set of 3 stories that intertwine, one of the stories where an old couple would put people in their walls and floorboards. It's creepy but not cursed. Now, there is an absolutely cursed book about the color yellow, it was made with wallpaper that, at the time, is very hazardous. The book literally has to be kept contained because of how dangerous it is to humans. Anyways, King in Yellow is a good book, I enjoyed it. Seems like the author just wanted to write short stories and decided to have them linked in some mysterious ways. It is true though that it slowly goes from some paranormal to more romantic. I must read it again

Why do I remember being told that the little girl from Poltergeist was abused to death? I've never heard this "heart failure" story, last I heard over my 31 years is that her dad was a horrible abuser & went too far & took her life. Am I wrong? Am I crazy?

Im surprised you didnt mention The Exorcist has a convicted murderer as one of the extras during the doctor scenes. He was found guilty of murdering a film journalist in 1979. Prior to this, police and prosecutors linked him to murders of gay men in Manhanttan known as the bag murders. Charges were dropped due to lack of evidence even though some said he had confessed to the murders during his time in jail.

The book of The Yellow King is not cursed, the play is. Also Lost Carcosa is a place not another name for Lord Hastur the Unspeakable. Lost Carcosa is located on the plains of Lang,on another planet. Lord Hastur and Lost Carcosa are first mentioned in 2 short stories by Ambose Bierce Haita the Shepard and An Inhabitant of Carcosa.

Some stuff missing that should have been here: "Smile Dog" How is the most infamous "cursed image" not on here despite The Grifter and similar things being here? "Timmy Turner" Mary Kay Bergman, the initial actress who voiced Fairly OddParents' main protagonist Timmy Turner would end up with cancer and ultimately chose to kill herself. The voice actress that followed, Tara Strong getting in trouble on social media, as well as Drake Bell who played Timmy Turner in the live action movies, facing sexual allegations. "27 Year Old Celebrities with White Lighters" This is probably the most damning exclusion on the list. There are theories of why most people of the notorious "27 Club" met their unfortunate demise and it's said that most of them had white lighters on them. The 27 Club in itself is really an entire rabbit hole and it's honestly dumb that the person who made this iceberg could even overlook this phenomenon.

@@tb3411 it's no big deal. I too would've said it was the cancer that killed her, not the suícíde, as she likely wouldn't have ended her life had she not been diagnosed with such a long and miserable illness.

The white lighter thing would need actual evidence for "most" having them on them when they died. The 27 club goes back a very long time and is more about how many people with certain struggles not making it to their 30s than any weird occurrence. Also, how is a lighter color theory "cursed media"? Doesn't fit the definition of media at all.

omg i can explain the poltergeist corpses thing! in the 80s it was cheaper to just buy real bones than create a prop. so the scene where she falls into the pool with the skeletons has the real bones of real deceased people in it. the actress was not told they were real too. real bones were also used by Disney in one of their rides as it was built during this same period of cheap real skeletons
