Tara is buried in co meath ireland praveen. Its the traditional high seat of the king of Ireland. The irish and the indians share the river goddess danu. In the indian mythos shes a minor river goddess. In the irish tradition she is the birther of the children of light or the children of danu. In my mind the windows would have housed a long piece of timber or tree trunk to hold up a large bell in the central resonance chamber and the adjacent side rooms would have had a disk shaped mechanism with ropes so monks in these side chambers could alternate the ringing of this bell. The bell would likely be removed by later cultures and reused elsewhere as It was an easily accessible metal. Is this crazy to imagine? ❤ love your research Praveen.

I appreciate your work a lot Praveen! I've learned a lot about Sanatan Dbarma from your explorations of these temples! 1 thing that come to mind is the mutability of all the imagery. They almost can all be seen from different points of view to provide multiple dimensions of interpretation. This is so key to understanding scriptures; they are almost all full of allegaory and metaphor which is why they can seem so strange, but keeping that open mind to see things in the world from many different points of view is really vital! I hope you don't feel bad about how KZbin is minimizing the channel but it is important to point this out. We don't want narrative wars, we just want people to express their truth and allow multiple dimensions of understanding.

It's basically a Vishnu temple as evidently visible from the Lakshmi carvings on top of all doorways... My assumption is Buddhist kings and subsequently Muslim kings would have either removed or disposed of the statue of Narayan....the steps have been purposely destroyed or removed to restrict accessibility and thereby worship....just to preserve the culture and heritage they had left the outer structure standing maybe out of respect but mainly for tourism purposes....this completely my opinion as former resident of Indonesia I have a fair idea their mindset towards their Hindu past...they are tolerant and respectful...but at the same time they prefer to identify with their religion and the culture in Islamic countries.

This temple originally named Tarabhavanam was badly damaged by ancient earthquakes & was only partially restored by the Dutch before WW2. A lot of collapsed stonework was repurposed for other buildings or fortifications over the centuries. It has been speculated there once stood an 18-foot bronze statue of Dewi Tara in the main chamber. The 2 "windows" were really access ways to the top of the statue.

There are idols of goddess Lakshmi and Tara Devi on the wall of the temple. So, it clearly shows Buddhists occupied Hindu temples.

We cannot jump to such a conclusion. In Japan, Hindu gods like Saraswati, Laxmi, Kubera, Brahma, Mahakala, and Indra are very common in Buddhist temples. They of course have different names that have evolved from their original Sanskrit names. So, this could very well be a Buddhist temple with a Lakshmi idol.

Hindus thought that Buddism was not different from our culture, but Buddists never accepted it and separated temples from Hindus…
