I’m so disappointed and disgusted with the ritual demand by Baganda Elders from Lawero. We are all aware how the war started in LAWERO. The war in Lawero was not about Acholi vs Baganda or did Acholi people declared war on Baganda, or had it been that the war was between Acholi people and Baganda people, it would have be a fair demand for restitution by Baganda Elders from Lawero. So such a restitution demand by Baganda elders from Lawero is miss placed and a violation of restitution norms. The Lawero war, was a war between dually constituted government of Uganda and the people who rebelled against the siting government of Uganda, therefore the Baganda Elders should demand the restitution from the government and not from Acholi. Acholi like many other Ugandans there were in the service of the government of Uganda so were other tribes including Baganda, Baganda should know is this, many of the their intel Ops for Lawero were Baganda. The 23 years war in Acholiland was purposeful, and was a silent genocide. Statement such as this and many other like ( …we shall put them “ Acholis” in a bottle so they can fight each other, like Grasshoppers and they will never come out). Twenty three years of forcing Acholi people to live in IDP camp, for a war Baganda in Lawero started on an elected government, it’s like calling the kettle black.
