George is a handsome colt, but be honest, we were all hoping for a Paint filly. And it is safe to say that George is not that. I will not get too attached to him, as odds are that George will not be hanging around at the mini farm in a year's time because he is a boy and will be sold.

@katievanslyke (this got longer than I intended. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄🤭 I hope you’ll have a minute to hang in there with me. 😁) Omgosh. Your minis blow my mind. I almost can’t wrap my brain around how correct and pretty they are. But frankly, with the quality of all your animals, I’m not surprised! I do need to qualify my comment by saying I grew up riding USHJA hunter/jumpers with a trainer that bred welsh ponies, so my eye for any equine that small isn’t without bias. (In fact, I grew up in Knoxville❣️ Go Vols🧡🤭😁) ANYhoo! I know minis are technically “horses” and no, it’s not like I’ve seen a ton of them. I’m definitely not claiming to be an expert BUT, of the minis I HAVE seen, the majority look like tiny welsh ponies or fragile Arabians. (Arabian people, don’t come at me. Arabians definitely aren’t fragile, I just mean the finer minis’ bones look so small, like an Italian Greyhound compared to a standard greyhound) Karen, REGINA and Dolly don’t hit me that way. NGL, because we had 2 DARLING broodmares very similar to Karen and chrome like Dolly’s is a huge hit in the pony hunter ring, I maaaay or may not have to remind my eyes to NOT look at them as ponies, but it comes from a place of love. 😬 BUT, when I stand back and look with my horse judging team eyes, I’ll be damned if all 5 of your minis don’t look like quarter horses (and a paint) that got put in the dryer by mistake! I can’t wait to see Regina and Karen once they get back down to their fighting weight classes. 😂😍 Since you’re a quarter horse girl, get this stroke of luck I fell into… I have an Animal Science degree from UT. 🍊 I’m 55 and long retired now, but from ‘94-2002 I sold pharmaceuticals to vets. I was first in East TN, then in Central Illinois. I’m sure you know who lived in Auburn, Illinois back in those days? I had Richland Ranch as part of my territory so I got to see Goodbar and the rest of their studs, up close and personal, like I belonged there! 🤯It was THE HIGHLIGHT of my 7 years in that territory. Whenever possible, Richland got an entire day, simply because they’d put up with me hanging around in the breeding room or even just watching John ride and give lessons. It was AWESOME!!! They even let me help at a couple shows, grooming and take horses back and forth from the warm up and show rings! Talk about feeling like you’re runnin with the big dogs! I was a total tagalong fangirl but I could’ve cared less. They never treated me like anything less than a part of their crew. My husband and I even got invited to their barn Christmas parties. Granted, by then, Goodbar was definitely older, but he was still going strong as a super star stud. With Richland standing 6-7 NICE studs, they had several fields of broodmares and babies and tons of young prospects in every stage of training. It’s something I’ll never forget. For just a little bit, I got to stand next to greatness and nobody asked what I was doing there. 😆 I already had a soft spot for roans of any kind, but after being around Goodbar? If I ever get to have a roan, you’ll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands. 🤭😂 For so many reasons, your channel is my heart channel❣️❣️❣️

He is a cutie, even though he turned out to be what most of us really wasn't hoping for, which the majority wanted a paint filly, Katie did to. Maybe sexed semen is the answer the next time. As I said, all baby horses are cute and he is adorable. One thing I can predict that will come true is that George will not be living his full life at the mini farm. Reason - he was born a boy, and he will be sold.
