The 3.5 is actually a headphone-mic combo jack. It seems to work fine. Hiby is just weirdly bad about advertising that feature. The product specs just insist on describing it as "CTIA-spec TRRS compatible" instead of saying in plain language anywhere that it supports microphones. And when asked what "all desktop audio functions supported" is supposed to mean they apparently didn't think that mic support was worth mentioning.

R4. ❤ great! Class A amplifies the entire sinus (music wave), so plus and minus side. In AB the positive part of the sinus is amplified by one half and the negatieve by the other, so at the crossover point there will allways be distortion. Classical A does not distort as the signwave is and stays whole. Costs a lot of power, but it's the best.

Damn you are asking the hard questions. I think I have to give the amp on this the edge. The DAC was the golden star on the EF600. I actually have the EF499 and EF500 video up soon.

I thought I'd already seen the ass-ugliest DAC-amps that look like they don't belong on a desk or in a living room or anywhere in a home really, from iFi and Schiit, but this might set a new bar for WTF were the designers smoking, my god. And mind you their Evangelion thingy is not very different geometrically, but that one manifests an easily recognizable theme, with colors and everything - as much as I hate the 45-degree corners on all the rectangular units lately, the Evangelion works because it's Evangelion and you can easily understand what it wants to look like. This thing doesn't say "cyberpunk" to me, nor is "cyberpunk", the name of a whole subgenre of sci-fi, associated with any specific tech design in my mind.

@ZReviews it's already back in their hands. Waiting for an update. Their warranty kinda blows. They only cover the shipping on the way back. 75$ down the drain just to send it there.
