I hate this car not just because its ass, its also a massive waste of money and resources. Its fast and has a pretty impressive EV powertrain, and its also a brand new car being built in a way that never has before. Imagine if Tesla put this much effort into building a new, normal car, improve reliability, add physical controls. The cars would actually be good. Instead they made this bullshit.

Fun fact. Dont act on this but An university whom shall remain unnamed (you'll see why) conducted a study to find the most effective means of increasing public saftey, reducing waste, while keeping professional vehicles unaffected. They found that 50 people could make operating SUV's and giant trucks too expensive for braging rights without effecting low income second market buyers and work vehicles... by keying every SUV and mega truck they come across one night a week. In a city the size of New York. Because the status symbol effect gets ruined, but the vehicle remains usable and does not need repair. Youd need a diffrent tactic for the cyber truck but the point remains the same. A status symbol only reamins a status symbol if almost EVERYONE allows it to be so. Thats the take away, not do crime, dont flag me KZbin, the take away is that you have to make it not a status symbol and the most effective way is commiting a crime, but the second most effective way Is simply Spread the word about the most effective way. Something I am engaging with right now. If "status symbol" dangerious vehicle buyers know that at least 50 people know vandalizm could make thier life miserable and know they are willing if changes dont happen soon, then that will factor in on thier next vehicle and they wont be nearly as likely to buy a massive vehicle.

Until people put pressure on the regulators to acknowledge this refrigerator on wheels is neither a normal truck nor a normal vehicle but something else entirely that must be regulated by something like weight. Volvo doesn't do the crash testing as a marketing tactic. They do it because they care, and are honest. I know, it's a novel concept, for some parts of the world. Well funny enough Volvo doesnt even come close to Tesla when it comes to the safety of their cars. The Model 3/Y and S/X are basically getting perfect scores in every safety category. Tesla has sold ~4 Million of those. And maybe a couple thousand cybertrucks so far, and even on those your accessment of their safety is more of a "ah well I think its dangerous" than anything factual. By the way Tesla 9 years ago when they were just a small unimportant company most people believed to go bancrupt sooner or later decided that all of their patents were free to use by anyone. That was one of the main points that stuck out to me was how blatant of a lie that was but whatever. Shitty to promise something useful like that and then not deliver especially when it has an air ride suspension system and other options that could benefit from an onboard air compressor,, sigh. @@Cocoanutty0 🤣 Citroën is pretty hit-and-miss for sure - but they have come up with some impressive innovations, and I'm biased towards (not _against)_ Citroën for a personal reason as well: They designed the Citroën DS _"The Godess"_ (produced from 1955 to 1975) in whom they introduced the insanely advanced hydropneumatic system, front lights linked to the steering column in order to swivel them into the direction you are turning and illuminating not only what's right in front of you but also where you are going to be - and I believe it had been the very first car coming with a board computer as well. _The Godess_ (DS being a deliberate pun because it sounds like "déesse", french for "godess") was way ahead of its time and had a unique design on top, it's suspension approach lent itself perfectly for lowering and rising the chassis in another iteration 20 years later - and still ahead of its time appearently. Citroën's issues in the past had less to do with taking completly inane approaches alá Tesla from point of conception but with fluctuating quality in production and stuff like rattling interior - but you shouldn't forget what my folks had been used to drive priviously, the Sachsenring "Trabi" Trabant who had been a modern "common people's" car just like the VW Beetle (or Citroën's Duck at that) when rolled out but little updated in 40 years so in 1990 people would drive a 25 PS 1200 lbs car without back seat belts nor any other safety features but a CyberTruck style optional tent available since the early 70's ironically referred to as "Hotel Sachsenruh" - "Hotel Saxon's Rest" by people, a body material abandoning established industry standards as well as having to wait anywhere between 8 to 13 years for your car after preordering so people would preorder cars for their children when the latter started primary school which currently is the case with some parents and Tesla appearently according to TikTok so I can't help myself to wonder whether the CT could in fact be a tribute to our good old GDR Trabi. 🤣 And then theres my personal Citroën anecdote which made me appreciate the brand: My dad had been working in a neighbouring town and one day driving home on a so called "federal road" limited to 70 mph resp. 100 km/h with a line of trees to the sides when he watched the driver of an oncoming car glitching out behind the wheel and steering into his lane. Because the sideways trees being even more dangerous he didn't try to dodge the crash but hit the breaks, closed his eyes and made his peace. Although my dad had managed to slow down the cars still hit frontally with above 100 mph resp. 130 km/h, the Xantia got brutally totalled - and despite not even having air bags (his following Xantia would have) my dad got away _completly unscathed._ I'd rather sit in a 30 years old Xantia when hitting an equally sized incoming car frontally than a 2024 CyberTruck, no joke, and I don't care all that much about rattling interior panelling eversince.. 😅 Sorry for the bloated reply and greetings from Berlin! 🍻

Oh my goood the memories. My Italian ex and I (we‘re still cool and he‘s a good human) used to drive down to Italy (about 1’000km) in his mom‘s old silver Citroën xm, that was about 6 years ago. The suspension is so much fun and I also love the way it looks. One time we had some friends join us in the backseat. By making the suspension softer than reasonable they were bouncing so much that one of the guys repeatedly hit his head on the top of the car, even with a seatbelt. I was crying laughing. Elon, on the other hand, only makes me cry. Sharp contrast to my South African ex (I‘m not doing this on purpose) who was a huge Elon fanboy. Hope he moved on from that in the four years we haven‘t spoken bc ew.

@@sarapocorn Ah, yes, the XM - wasn't it the version with the weird rear wheel boxes? I think we had one lent to us when Citroën was dealing with the totalled Xantia before we got a new one. But it's been ages, maybe I misremember. For a boy like me its suspension was peak technology back then. 😅

if somebody accidentally locks their keys in their car with their dog or child, that is not going to go down well. My sister was once locked in a car on a hot day for 20-30 minutes while the keys were inside and the windows were up, the only way in was the windows. Cars today are made the way they are for a reason. It is very important that your car can get damaged; for the safety of your and others' lives.

@@davecoop9579 Ah, just ignorance then. Kudos to you for admitting it! So, "gas" is short for "gasoline", which is a word derived from trademarks for specifically automotive fuel, which themselves were derived from the surname of a brit named John Cassell. So it's the UK's fault that we call it gas, just like literally every other word since they colonized it and brought the language with them.
