This is crazy too, because there's those that say/do certain things and don't apologize for it. But the VERY MOMENT people get on them about what was said/done and then the person/people want to come out/forward and say "It was just a joke. I didn't really mean it. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. That wasn't my intention", or "It wasn't meant to be like that. You guys are overreacting " *which can be true, especially depending on the race. I've seen it in action😮💨*. But you know GOOD AND WELL EXACTLY what they meant. But they came out to COVER THEIR A**ES😑.

The thing I hate about cancel culture is that it doesn’t give anyone the room to change or grow from there past and like you said instead of just holding that person accountable they just harass them off the internet

the bullying part is always insane to me,, because the entire point of bullying a creator off of a platform is supposed to be reserved for folks like ONISION!! the point was "oh!! this irredeemable criminal still has a platform and they should not. they're a danger to others and the platforms themselves aren't doing anything about it,, lets drive them away!!" bullying someone who's been cancelled is NOT supposed to be just because youre in your catty,, regina george-wannabe era and you desperately need validation from other people online telling you that you're funny or ate that.

this is SUPER interesting. I dont think I've ever heard anyone say bullying is behavior that's acceptable when xyz. I mean, people can always not and you know just avoid the content.
@krazyxki6 ай бұрын
@@jusletursoulglobaby Personally I do just avoid content myself bc I'm too grown lol but spamming a prxdator to leave the platform I wouldn't agree is bullying, coming after their looks and stuff IS (but tbh with you, idc if people clown a prxdator), but spamming their comments to inform people, I wouldn't consider "bullying." That being said, it's still important to be fair and make sure there's some proof of allegations before cancelling someone and casting judgment. Inform ppl without accusing basically.
@jusletursoulglobaby6 ай бұрын
@@krazyxki I am assuming legit predators have free reign online and are not taken off the app. I heard theres a problem with that but it's not a direct issue for me so I dont really know. agree with the distinction you made too. informing isnt the same as random clowning people. and yea ppl SHOULD know what they're saying is true first but I also know ppl are reactionary behavior exhibited online.
@krazyxki6 ай бұрын
@@jusletursoulglobaby Sooo true, you would think people would have learned by now considering the times where people came with evidence of their innocence but nope. I do feel bad for victims who don't get justice but the burden of proof shouldn't be on the accused and ppl forget that. It's hard to prove you DIDN'T do something. But this madness will continue as long as rage bait is rewarded and monetized on these platforms.

I think it's just a hot mess in general. My thing is that, I get that whatever the person did wasn't okay. But, that doesn't give anyone the right to bully. Especially at such a harsh extent. There's been people/creators talk about some comments telling them they need to kill themselves, they don't need to be on this earth, about their looks and just other REALLY NASTY things. DESPITE whatever horrible thing(s) or even minor thing(s) the person/people did. For me, it doesn't make the people bullying ANY BETTER than the person/people who did what they did.

No cause you're right, and the bullying stage gets nasty, videos about you on KZbin, threads on Twitter and Reddit, doxxing and you are right that some people don't deserve their platform but they never go after them, it's always people who are like I bought this outfit or give a mascara review and everyone turns on them

I think the worst part of cancel culture is that it doesn't cancel the people it needs to. So many vile people still have a platform and are making money when they really shouldn't.

Also if we keep it real we have ALL said dumb crap at some point in our lives lets have more compassion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts beautiful ❤

If someone did something heinous then I personally won't be tuning back in, but I do notice other people get over things quickly. Edit: To add, a lot of accounts have positive comment bots and remove negativity. We're all being manipulated, so don't follow the crowd. If there's something you feel strongly about, stick with your convictions. Some people do deserve to be cancelled.

I get overwhelmed with remembering everyone’s controversy’s. Like you just like someone’s video that they made and everyone’s like “how could you like that video when they said something terrible ten years ago!” Like just because you like a piece of content someone created doesn’t mean you support every decision they’ve ever done.

Sometimes, I've seen/heard this cycle happening. My thing is, while I get ans understand the controversy and outrage and thinkpiece parts. I never understood the remaining two cycles because (as I said under someone else's comment). The extent in which people bully is really horrible. They're no better than the person they like and the excuse of "well they're getting a taste of their own medicine" is bs. There's other ways of holding a person accountable without going overboard.
