The 2006 Yankees. The sox & angels both missed the playoffs, they looked like a sure thing going into the postseason with a bunch teams that didn’t really have any October experience. That loss to Detroit is still a head-scratcher. But 2004 is an unforgivable scar that will NEVER heal.

the 2006 mets were the biggest disappointment, they were the best team in the majors, had the best record by like 10 games, and lost to a vastly less talented cardinals team, they wouldve smoked the tigers in the world series

How could Alex have had better '05 and '07 seasons? He won the MVP in both those seasons! What would have changed if the Yanks had not blown the series in '04? Would Alex have won tow Triple Crowns?

In the regular season he was good, but on the playoffs 05 06 and 07 he hit absolutely abysmally. I think In 05 he hit less than .100 AVG in 5 games Had they won in 04, the pressure to perform in the playoffs would have been laxed and perhaps Arod wouldn’t have been so yippy at the plate
