What an excellent documentary of the pros and cons of dams. You have considered all aspects in the decision making process and have reinforced the need that this needs to occur through joint discussion. I will be using this in my Wisconsin Natural Resources class at our high school (D.C. Everest) in Weston, Wi.

Wow, this is a really well made film. A great topic to focus on. I hope that in the future we can design reliable free flow hydro generators that allow us to have clean rivers and clean energy generation.

Fantastic job. Would be helpful to know how much it would cost to maintain the dams and refurbish or replace the generators. And, who would pay for it?

I would definitely agree, Burt. Knowing the price would really help people in the decision making process. The city has a preliminary cost analysis on their website but it is no where near the exact number. Once the test results from the sediment analysis comes back they will have a better idea of how much dam removal will cost. As of right now, the range is so huge that it doesn't help the discussion because it's really just a wild guess.
