The Damned 73: Ruta 40's Most Infamous Stretch

I took on the infamous "73 Malditos" along Argentina's Ruta 40. "The Damned 73" is considered one of the real challenges of riding the Ruta 40 in Argentina. Follow me as I ride this route filled with deep gravel, with a group of new friends.
Between crashes, guanacos, gravel and the harsh flats of Patagonia, this is what you think of when you think of the famous Ruta 40.
I'm riding my Honda CRF250L Rally on a tour of South America on my way south the ride to Argentina.
About Me:
I am a motovlogger out of Portland, OR who does scenic rides and vlogs about the ride and the places I visit. I do motorcycle trips, adventure riding and moto camping along with day rides to scenic and memorable destinations on some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. I'm currently doing a multi year long ride from the US to the southern tip of South America and beyond, on a Honda CRF250 Rally.

Ya. It was super deep and loose. You had to commit to a groove, there was no changing lines once you are in it.

Ya. I don't like it either. Same with sand, I've never gotten a feel for it, or the guts to just give it a ton of speed to get on top of it.

I'm good. It wasn't as hard as people seemed to talk it up to be. There was the section of deep stuff, but the rest wasn't all that bad.

That had to be absolutely fatiguing. The gravel on the ALCAn and Dalton last year were almost the death of me.

Once you find a pace where the bike is comfortable, it wasn't so bad. The trouble came from having to change between ruts.
