I think Heppell skewed Llordo's point as well. Lloyd's point effectively was showing that you won't get bullied. Essendon got slapped around all night - 30 tackles they only laid for the game! Sydney are hardnuts and they stamped on the throats on the bombers. Once the Swans could smell blood, it was over. Essendon were ripe for the picking and did nothing about it.

There was a game last year I think where Heppell got knocked down hard. Jake stringer runs straight at the opponent and grabs his jumper and starts spraying him. Bombers turn around and kick 3 goals off the back of it.

I agree with Lloyd. I've played a game where the opposition were more skillful than us. We got aggressive and turned it into a slog. They got riled up and forgot about the ball. We removed their skill advantage by getting their mind off the game. We still lost, but not by much. Turned a thrashing into a narrow loss, and made a nice rivalry.

You looks back through history of premiership winning teams in the last 20 to 30 years (tigers, hawks, geelong, Eagles, sydney, Brisbane, adelaide, North) have a ruthless edge about them. It doesn't have to match those days but Melbourne and Richmond have a good aggression for the modern game. You can't win premierships if you don't have aggression.

Being a bombers supporter and watching these clips heavily the last few days. The only people who are saying we shouldn't have smashed Parker or show emotion after the game are the people who never played at the top level. Our president and CEO never played at the top level. I think the leadership group or captain should be able to approach a coach & say I / we think some of players aren't getting the game plan / are over thinking / it's too complex in the heat of the game forgetting elements etc.... coaches can plan & order all they want but need to know what the players are thinking or know / understand why their struggling to execute . I cancelled my membership at the end of 2019 due to the death of a thousand cuts i call it. A lot of little cuts add up to one big one. Lot's of talk around it being a different era to Llordo's, ok lets look a little closer, if the situation with Shield happend to say Sam Mitchell, here is how that plays out, Mitchell would be all over Parker like a rash, everytime Parker got near the ball he would be taken down hard, you would then have Hodgey doing the same thing, players would be getting taken down hard, Lewis would also be doing the same, bottom line you do what Parker did to the Hawks back in 2015 you are going to regret it, you do it to the current D's and you will regret it, do it to Essendon and you will get away with it no problem at all, reminds me of the line in the sand game, the Hawks used to get physically beat up by the bombers and then the Hawks decided enough was enough, can you imagine what Dermi would have to say if the Hawks allowed Parker to treat Hodge in that manner. @@alexcables3293 north Melbourne have been the worse side in the league for ages and no speaks about that and how bad there players are and look at west coast look at the players they have elite players and look how bad they are not saying Essendon doing good we know we have to work on stuff but why don’t know one talk about them and criticise them

@@user-ph8tn1ny8q It's because both West coast and north are in a rebuild. Essendon is supposed to be winning finals this year, they should be in the window. West Coast has won two premierships and played in 4 grand finals since we won our last final lol.

No bro its about not getting disrespected. Show the fans it means something, your there for your mates. Its even is a matter of real hard hip and shoulder, and in effect say "yeah whats up?" effectively. In other words, stand up for yourself and your team. Handling it the way they did makes them like so timid. I mean look at Zach Merrett, he got ploughed through and where were the rest of the bombers they are nowhere.

@@desiolle2874 totally agreed, I'm a bombers fan and the thing that gets me they look totally OK with losing... badly, and couldn't care less. After a promising back half of 2021, I expected a lot more then this, not top 4 or anything and given our draw isn't the easiest especially at the start but it's the way we are losing, our reactions to it, and playing a selfish don't give an f brand of football, whilst not caring for our team mates nor fans.
