I will argue Dan’s point about the NFL not being equipped to handle the Watson or other similar investigations. The NFL has more money & resources than they know what to do with. To say they’re not equipped ignores the fact that they CAN be and are CHOOSING not to be. They can hire the absolute best current or recently former SVU officers and specialists from any level of law enforcement or even from the actual training academies for those positions. They CAN then let them do their investigations independent of interference from NFL execs or owners. They CAN say that it does not matter how good, famous, or “valuable” the player is and that the stars worth millions will be treated the same as the practice squad guys and journeymen. They CAN do this and even more and CHOOSE not to.
