We have camped in a camper for at least 30 years with no events. But in the past years, it's gotten worse. Last year, we had someone knock on our window at 3am. We were terrified. And there were meth heads around. Good luck up north! Avoid certain small towns in Washington such as Hoquium and Aberdeen. We had problems at Grayland State park campground, although it is a very nice campground. Yes, we are afraid, not of animals and bears, but of the two legged kind. Still, it's worth it. Never respond if someone knocks at your door at night. Sometimes they're testing to see who answers, female, male?

I’ve been camping in a camper with my family my whole life and it was mostly really safe (we usually aren’t in big cities either) but we once had to spent a night on a normal parking lot in a slightly bigger city because we had to get on a really early ferry, and in the middle of the night some person started walking around our camper, trying to look inside and mumbling weird stuff and that time I was happy to have my German Shepard dog, because while he loved us and always listened to us well, he absolutely hated strangers and so he barked really loudly and aggressively, making the person outside leave, so I believe dogs really are the best ❤

We ALWAYS go to bed 100% prepared & ready to leave at the first sign of alarm - so that we DON'T have to step outside of the RV - not for ANYTHING. @@fishcrow2848 Exactly, @fishcrow .. Safety whilst on the road is our number one priority! We've had some insane encounters with some insane characters .. It seems there is always someone out there who will try to take everything from you - - including your life & liberty - - and there are far more of these people around than I could have ever imagined! We've had far too many run-ins with the nastiest of people to count now, so we also had well-concealed security cameras installed which cover every aspect of the entire RV's exterior, with dedicated viewing-panels in both front & rear - we can see everything at once, at a single glance - & this saved us from what would have been a serious situation just a few nights ago.. Never assume you are 'alone' just because you are in a remote location & haven't seen anyone else around! Safety AND security at all times are our top priorities - but particularly at night time. At the push of a couple of buttons, we're good to go within seconds of waking up! Our nightly routine includes isolating one fully-charged battery from the solar system to ensure immediate start-up, that the keys are in the ignition, we do a walk-around to check that everything is in order & good to go immediately & that nothing is left outside, we engage all safety locks on cupboards & fridge etc (you only forget to do that ONCE, LOL!) .. and if, for some reason, things didn't go to plan that way, then we wouldn't hesitate to exercise our right to protect ourselves - with several options to choose from located within arm's reach all throughout the RV. I would highly recommend that all travellers consider their own escape & defense plan long before you might ever need one - because undoubtedly there will be times when you will wish you had a plan A, B, C & D! At the very least, be prepared for it! : ) By the way, I read that the FBI estimates that there are at least 33 serial-killers operating within the United States AT ANY ONE TIME ......

Carry a shotgun, don't let anyone know you have it. If anything or anyone comes through your door, just aim in their general direction. For you ladies that have never shot a gun, you'll find a shotgun shell puts out a wide pattern so you're sure to hit your target. Just go to a gun range and do some practice shots and get the feel of the "kick" and how to load it, etc. Take some classes. Carry a pistol or have both. You didn't use to have to worry so much about bad people but with drugs as they are now, you do. Good luck and stay safe.

Always see if you can have a quick exit, van/RV facing the road/exit, without you having to reverse and make a turn 3. Don’t leave rubbish outside, that’s critters and animal magnet. You’ll have noises and disturbances from them. Sleep disrupted and you worry for no reason. Secondly, you can’t leave at a heart beat because your rubbish is still outside.

I remember camping once with friends up in Homer Alaska but had no clue what high/low tide was. at 230am in the morning, I thought hmmm....my feet feel wet. I looked outside our tent and water was almost all around the tent and 4 of us needed to pack. up quickly and get the heck out of there!

So are we frightened of the water? It's perfectly clear where the watermark is: Where the sand stops and the grass begins.

Anybody with an RV like this and a partner better darn well know they are expected to protect them! They should have no less than a handgun but the best protection is a shotgun. There is nothing that defends like a shotgun. If this were me you damn well better know I'll be defending my loved ones with a shotty!

and here’s me wondering if I’ll be able to sleep ok in my house because I just installed a doggy door and feel like I’ve given easy entry to my home 😂 I’m ok, I slept ok. Getting used to it. It’s actually a kitty door.

You can see the tide line. It would go above that unless a moon tide or storm surge

If your against guns to protect you, then pepper spray. Go to a gun store or a business that supplies to cops. Ask them for the kind of spray if your trying to control a crowd. Next option. Bear spray. Lower option... Wasp spray .........

This isn't in the United States she's driving on the wrong side of the vehicle. She did grab those bags from outside you see him in the trailer but if you hear a noise you're not going to go out on your own
