Thank you for bringing more awareness to the healing that must be done for our people. I left my husband after 4 years of marriage 24 years ago. Got my divorce from him. Four months after leaving him, he was arrested for murder . It started with name calling, then grabbing around the neck then shoveling up against the walls and into closet doors. Then trying to take over my car. I left him because it no longer felt like love . I am a retired nurse who got out of that situation. He knew exactly what he was doing. I am thankful to have left him. He was very good at threatening me with harm to himself or to my family if I ever left him . My ancestors took care of him where he will never get out to harm anyone ever again.

Gogo, I lost 2 best friends to gun violence from domestic violence. Demetria Yolanda Bennett & Latina Herring. Latina, both of her children, and father were shot by a man she realized meant her no good. When she got ready to leave him he did this. Demetria couldn't just walk away, leave him completely alone. He killed her while her children slept in the rooms down the hall. Unfortunately this is a way of life, at 46 I remember seeing my mother being beaten by extension cords. It stays with you for life

I agree that women should protect themselves, BUT no one should push someone to their breaking point. No one knows how far you can push someone until they snap, so that’s a risky game and no man or woman should try to drive Anyone insane. That’s sad, and if his story is true then he needs to seek help and go to jail, but she should have been in jail too.
