I don't understand how anyone could fall for these traps, but apparently they do. It's sad because I think it pushes the agenda that men's worth is just their monetary value. And the agenda that women are manipulators for that matter.

I think a lot of men who go there are very lonely and the women make them feel special.

For anyone who is curious about these, the key tip which was offered here is don't just go on your own into a place where you don't know anybody. I've been a couple of times as a guest of regulars and that worked out. For us it was basically drinks and some interesting conversation. As the narrator lays out, there are lots of stories about how dark this world can get. But there's also lots of people who just go for somebody to talk with.

Depends what you're looking for. IMO Thai ones suck compared to Japanese ones but I enjoy having conversations beyond Connect 4
