RSS did not participate in the freedom struggle of India infact they were supporter and informer of the Britisher. During Quit India movement, Bharat Chodo Andolan under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi ji in 1942, Sawarkar and Shama Prasad Mukherjee and RSS along with Jinnah and Muslim league formed government in 3 states, North West Frontier, Sindh and Bengal , whereas Congress leaders were put in jail for not cooperating with the Britisher. Rss did not listen to Subhash Chandra Bose infact Sawarkar asked people to join the British army to fight against Azad Hind army of Subhash Chandra Bose.
