For every male or female jockey around the world, next race can be the last one. And like american jockey Mike Smith said once: "If you don´t win, you are not paid" Although horse racing is a beautiful sport, is the most dangerous too. Greetings from Venezuela.

Tessa Kanotz. If we stop horse racing what are we going to do with the 30+ million horse? We can’t even find homes for the horses in the slaughter how would we find home for them
@ryleigh995
@ryleigh995 5 жыл бұрын
Tessa Kanotz no they don’t there are many programs for ottb’s to go on to other equine sports. Also it’s illegal to for a trainer or owner to send their horse to the slaughter they will be finned and/or banned also two thirds of the horses in these are quarter horses, paints and pony’s.

Tessa Kanotz. No they aren’t. Zenyatta, justify, Americans pharaoh , California chrome, Omaha beach, Rachel Alexander, into mischief, Malibu moon, Vino Rosso, Mitole, cross traffic, free drop billy, race day, temple city, Coal front, Air Force blue, classic empire, Cupid, Tapit, Frosted, Looking at lucky. Those are all horses that have retired and went to farms and there are many, many more that go through programs such as Carma, old friends ect. that put them into different disciplines such as show jumping, cross country, dressage, polo, and even barrel racing.

The Mauritian track is too narrow and the bends too tight, it's really difficult for a Jock to ride his horse out of trouble. At our Borrowdale Park in Zim you can land a 747 on the straight.

Angry little men beating horses for humans entertainment, greed and ego. The jockeys had a choice, the horses didn't. The sympathy is misplaced here.

They have no rules. They ride the reaches without brain. Of course they have so much accident. Pour horses. I love racehorse, but only when the Jockey use her brain and they have rules, not like wild West.

I agree. They need an administration to regulate the races instead of having braindead people riding and risking horses and jockeys lives

They really don’t hurt the horses, the horses know they are athletes and they like it. You can tell by their behavior they like it and they get treated with amazing care with walks on the beach etc... so don’t judge before because you don’t know what they do in the background, don’t make assumptions

Boo hoo, I'm sure the horses feel *really* bad when a stupid human gets hurt, despite racing trainers beating and drugging them up until they barely notice when they break a bone. Racing should be abolished, it's nothing but agony for the horses. They're started too early, before their backs can even properly carry weight (which is why race horses have the worst bone and joint issues), they're beaten into submission to a point where all they know how to do is RUN and RUN and RUN and it takes years of therapy after they've been rescued from the track before they're not trying to bolt the moment they get on a trail. Jockeys should be ashamed. They deserve everything they get.

Rest in peace, Nooresh Juglall. Being a vegan, I've never been a fan of horse racing. The owners make millions, but it's cruelty towards the horses and a danger for the jockeys. Dirty business. Bettings even make people fall into debts. STOP HORSE RACING!!

It's worse for the horses they die
@mandyc1091
@mandyc1091 6 жыл бұрын
But no mention of the hundreds of race horses dying and being killed on the track every year. Horses raced when not fully developed seriously weakens bones and tendons etc. If more jockeys got killed then there maybe some increased safety measures for horses. Horses don’t know the risks when taken on the track but jockeys do. It’s a cruel selfish greedy sport. If horses make it through their careers majority end up at slaughter and so do the ones that don’t make the grade. If the horse wins they praise the rider. When the horse falls it gets blamed.
@lydiathomas1248
@lydiathomas1248 6 жыл бұрын
the horses get such great care, and they are loved and praised after a race. Horses do not die nearly as much as you think, and they are bred for racing, they love to run, the whole sport is regulated and watched closely, just saying a lot goes on behind scenes that you wouldn't know abut, but these horses really get 5* treatment. They do not end up for slaughter after a race, many go on to become top level venters, I have a TB myself, they get retrained after a break from racing.

@@jujudeck you have purple sunglasses on darling take them Off and realize what you are supporting is abuse plain and simple it starts with how the horses are bred.......how the fuck is a horse not supposed to break his legs under so much pressure if a normal warmblood already technically has issues with that theyre legs are too "weak"(might not be the right word but i cant find another one right now)/thin to carry theyre overall weight with race horses thats even worse.......they often get slaughtered before they even get on the race track or shortly after while they are still very young (often under the age of 10) they often get trained far too early and the amount of doping involveld in racing is insane and dont even get me started on bets....betting on an animals life must be so much fun to support...... right i totally see how its not abuse now
