This is very comforting to listen to as someone who grew up on this movie. Even though it has become infamous for being unsettling, i find the dark crystal to be a comfort watch. I remember being very young, and because i was ill, i was allowed to stay up past my bedtime to watch this film; so many warm and fuzzy memories.

The Dark Crystal has been one of my favorite movies for most of my life. I was born in 1983, and I think I came upon this movie when I was maybe 9 or 10, hard to say. So in the early 90s, it would be extremely rare to see a film like this on the television. I'm pretty sure I saw it on VHS. I probably rented it from my local grocery store that also rented videos. I certainly rented it based on the VHS cover, that image of the castle and the amazing creatures, it looked like such an amazing fantasy! Of course Labyrinth had been released around the same time, but I didn't see that until years later. This film has stuck with me for my entire life. I'm 42 now, and I'm looking at the movie poster on my wall right now, listening to this beautiful, haunting soundtrack. It's really hard to explain why this movie means so much to me. The level of artistry from everyone involved has honestly transcended time. Tolkien created such a lush and amazing world with his stories, and I can't help but feel like the world of the Dark Crystal needs to be included on those lists of best fantasy stories. The story is timeless. The characters have become iconic. Brian Froud's conceptual designs are haunting and beautiful. The music reflects the world in the most amazing way, I wish it was celebrated more. I could keep going on and on about my love for this film, but if you're here reading this, well then you already know. "Another world, another time, in the age of wonder."

I read it was largely because Covid set in and it just got in the way of ever doing a 2nd season. Maybe there were other reasons too but I know I had read that Covid was one of the bigger reasons. Shame they never tried to get back to it once things got better. Holding a tiny hope they might animate the next part of the story, but I doubt it.@@Lizzywool
