I completely missed the Metal event, at the time I was only buying all the ongoing on my pull list and had completely stopped reading any of them for 2 years. It was just before Death Metal when I actually started reading them again, I had a massive stack of hundreds of comics to read. I remember it took me like 5 weeks of reading 10-15 comics per day to get through them all. But I had to watch a KZbin video that recapped the Metal event right before I started to read Death Metal, I think the KZbin video was like 11 hours long haha.

yeah the reason why the Batman who laughs story wasn't in it is because that happened after the metal series that's in between death metal and metal they actually have a deluxe 1 coming out of the Batman who laughs storyline which will also include the Grimm Knight number one b I forget the venting extra besides that but it will be coming out relatively soon I think

This is the first event I read. This really is what I used to get into comics. I own 2 of the 4 tpb’s. This is so tempting but I just can’t justify the double dipping.

Hi, I'm trying to get into comics and I heard good things about this story and want some help. It may be a dumb question, so bear with me. I can see that this book has 760 pages and supposedly contains all the necessary material, but when I was adding up number of pages of individual issues - it totals to a higher count. Why is that? Did each issue individually had some other content that wasn't part of the story, or is this "omnibus" release shortened somehow? Do I really need only this? In the video it's said that the Absolute edition has less tie-ins, but the quality of the book is better? Would it be better to get the Absolute edition for the quality and get tie-ins other way? Thanks!

It feels weird how much is kinda left out i wanna say, but looking at how they really mapped it well, hopefully they're saving all the other "tales from the multiverse" kinda stuff to put in between the stories in a Death Metal Omni I still just feel weird about the higher price/newer story/basically a vol 1 for Metal with 2 needing to be everything else, and looking at the literal hulk sized immortal tome, you gotta look at it sideways with the current economy haha

Marvel event omnibus editions are a JOKE compared to this masterpiece, the order is precious and well laid out, not like the Marvel counterparts where you get the main books upfront then the tie-ins in ABC order.

I bought the issues for Greg Capullo's art, Scott Snyder had a great run on Batman but he really lost me with this crossover and his Justice Leage run. My favorite issues where the one-shots about the Nightmare Batmans. I bought Death Metal also for the art but really couldn't care less about the story, it was all just too much nonsense for my taste.
