I love this video, most of the things you said are true to me. I want to add a little extra of what The Matrix goal is. This is presented in the last song: Neodammerung. Precisely, as You told in this video, machines needs to collect human experiences and then upgrade the system. The myth of the One is created to let the Architect collect all the data and upgrade himself, even if its human form is unaware of the task/function (Neo). Neo has to choose, at the final stage, to let everything behind him and join back machines as a software, this would fight back to his first beliefs about choice and determinism. The real choice wasn't meant to be the one that Neo made in the room, that was pre-determined as The Merovingian told. The real choice was to become a machine himself accepting the endline by Smith (If you programmed Pascal or C you should remember that). When Neo makes the choice Smith notices that switch and becomes scared, his long time enemy acts like a machine, he becomes the mirror of Smith. This is why Neo doesn't die touching machines and have the ability to keep connected to the Matrix, Neo is a software and his body is only a shell. At the moment of choice Neo transitions back to a program, feeling cold during the process. Many programs, including the Analyst, are unaware of this crafted process. The purpose of the Matrix is to become a farm to evolve both species. Machines needs human and humans need to evolve themselves (like in the episode Matriculated, when a machine joins humans). Machines, at their core, don't want to delete their creators, they simply can't, because there's also a form of strong respect for their father figures.

If Zion is destroyed 6 times then this sounds more like a virtual construct rather than an actual city - you don’t build an exact replica of a city under ground with exactly the same name. This means that it’s just another layer which would explain how Neo was able to use his ‘mind’ outside the Matrix to disable the ‘squid’

In another theory, Neo was split in two, the physical outside the matrix, and the "one" that resides inside. Both of them quantum linked that the program neo does while the physical Neo feels. It's part of why the physical needed to be plugged in at the source so the two combined can defeat the Smith. Physical Neo didn't destroy the sentinals, the internal code Neo knew to destroy them.

I like this theory because of the obvious parallels with the real world, however, another possibility could be that the deep logical structure of the Matrix is functioning as a computational system, with humans as the processor. The processes of the superintelligences would be encoded to be invisible to the experiencers of the Matrix reality. Likewise, the code for Matrix reality could have a dual encoding: one for the representation of the Matrix reality, and one for the various processes of the superintelligence. Or perhaps they could be rendered as abstract experiences, like heat and cold. Or cycle between active and non-active processing states, like day and night.
@natalie2070 Жыл бұрын
So as the people sleep the minds function like a super computer processing node and then when awake they generate model data. Neither of which would prevent the machines from additionally taking advantage of thermal power. I wouldn’t be surprised if the machines also used the methane too even if it isn’t discussed in the source material.

''I was always convinced that the matrix exists to have humans learn and mature so that one day when they come out they will have evolved mentally ...'' I AGREE - it is a matter of technology but yes fully agree. Once you have reached that level of technology, wouldn't it be much wiser to have your people live out an entire ''life'' in a matrix simulation(not a world linked but one of each person) learning through the ages of time, through different ideology's, through reason and logic - and once they have reach the point of ''BALANCE'' between all systems, seen through the crap of religions - they exit. All this done in time compressed state - so you live an entire life of discovery but only a year from 14-15 in the ''real world'' passes - like some kind of boarding school term. Now you have an entire society of evolved, civilized, educated and intelligent people. Remove the machines from this situation - as in the film - the battery idea although good enough, it is one of those things that looks great on the surface but the more you scratch at it, the more it falls apart - to me, looks more like they just didn't didn't want to be the cause of their creators end. Like state din this video - they could of gone with Nuclear, it is stated in the film - they use the ''energy and heat'' from the human body and combine it with ''some form of fusion'' - so the machines have Nuclear fusion - there is 0 need for humans.

But it's entirely possible we just didn't generate enough processing power in that environment. Then they made a nightmare matrix, and that seems to have gone too far in the other direction. Again, we can assume it wasn't efficient enough because the humans either didn't have a chance to form complex relationships and emotions, or they didn't survive long enough.

The real reason for The Matrix... The movie was made to put an important thought in your consciousness. They wanted you to come to a disturbing conclusion on your own... Corporations (the machines) pay you a pitiful sum to compel you to convert your entire life into wealth that they can steal. In this sense, you are a battery and they have harvested your life and mind to serve their interests. The corporations have built governments, laws, and an entire global economy where you have to play their game by their rules. Your life and your thoughts are used to make the corporation richer and more powerful. They only pay you enough to come back tomorrow and do it all over again. If they paid you more, you might escape the Matrix and find a way to live your life as a free person. Almost everyone in the world has become a wage slave for the corporations. If you were paid based on your productivity, the system would collapse immediately. The corporations and the super-rich, who live their lives as corporations, have excused themselves from all tax laws. You are required to pay the taxes for them. If the people (the wage slaves) ever realize that they can fight back, the corporations will be destroyed. In the past, the people understood that their second job was pushing back against the unlimited demands of the corporations. We used to form unions and go on strike to demand our fair share of the gross income of the corporation. Now, people are too frightened to risk their tiny shrinking paychecks. If you have been sucked into the debt cycle (college loan, car loan, home loan...) you can't rock the boat; If you lose your terrible job, you could lose everything. This pressure was not accidental. It's the trap. They control us through debt and steal the value of our time and intelligence. They steal your entire life and you are still proud to have a good job and work hard. In the same way, they control the 3rd world through debt and steal their natural resources. We could all decide to stop playing this game. Take the Red Pill and free yourself, but be warned... Once you know the truth and become a threat, the corporations will put your name on a list and you will never work again. Technology has made it possible to destroy all dissent. So, fight the power, but remember to wear a mask.

I like this better than just using humans for energy. This makes a lot of sense and is very plausible. Maybe our dreams are where they use our brains for computations.

In another franchise, if the Sonic story-arc were to take a more serious and darker tone, this explanation would make a likely argument for Robotnik trapping animals inside Badnik robots, due to their abundance and relative sizes. Heck, this is likely how the roboticization concept emerged in the first place!

Arguably the best opportunity for lucidity came and abruptly went when the Oracle's receptionist butted in to Thomas Anderson's encounter with the boy and his spoon. In some ways, this is where some viewers and Thomas Anderson have to part ways as we can only watch at a distance as he falls ever more entangled into the dream as it asserts it's will on his full attention. Meanwhile, most viewers recognize from then on that all bets are off without tops, bottoms or sides.

When the original matrix came out, people were still using aol dial up. They were afraid people wouldn’t understand what bandwidth or processing power is. The directors said themselves that the movie was based heavily on anime. Though they didn’t say it directly. Ghost in the shell was probably their biggest inspiration. I’ve always said that the movie ghost in the shell was matrix 4, and not the LGBT Agenda they gave us as 4. That was just a long commercial for ghost in the shell. That’s how I choose to see it at least.

If I understood correctly: this video explains that in The Matrix franchise people are used not as energy but emotional batteries?
@MrLoonzy10 ай бұрын
The Wachowskis scripted it as the power came from the neural network, but Warner Bros wanted it changed saying that the audience wouldn't understand what a neural network was and explaining within the script would be too long-winded.

Rogue Servitude is on the list. There is a line talking about how the first versions where paradise and thus rejected. This indicates that our well being is part of the equation, it just wasn't compatible with us. As they where also the defensive side in the war that occurred, it is far more likely we are dealing with a Rogue Servitor situation. The Virtual World A.I. doesn't need any other purpose bar 'plug them all in, I will take care of them!'

but we are though. You're a battery if you expend energy for the profit of another. you're a vessel that stores energy. you're charging your own batter by eating food and that food becomes blood sugar. your body stores blood sugar and that's the energy currency same as a battery contains electricity. You're another kind of battery. A 'blood sugar battery'. Your job is to spend energy on the system by working and consuming goods and services that create value in the system. You feed yourself and they steal that energy and give you more money to feed yourself. The world runs on blood sugar batteries. Like ants everyone doing their part like gears in a machine. You're trapped in the machine as a consumer and a battery. You earn more than you need so the excess you earn with your blood sweat and tears goes into the system. Without humans it all stops. Without you working and paying your taxes it all stops. You're enslaved so the system can continue to operate. The military industrial complex runs on your blood.

It was supposedly the studio who made the change in the script so that humans was batteries because they thought the original idea was to complex for people to understand. Machines needs humans for data input was supposedly what was in the original script.

From an esoteric point of view, the energy that you are talking about is called "loosh" look it up, you will find the concept explained of how we bring in that creational energy into the universe to then manifest it. You give your loosh to those things that constantly captivate your attention. Ever wonder why there is so much effort built around captivating people's attention (news, crisis, movies, media, adult entertainment and so many distractions). It's an interesting rabbit hole to explore :)

Emotions means the limbic brain system. For the machines to harness more energy, they woild havd to keep humans together as couples, sex produces the most energy, as birth energy.
@GothAlice11 ай бұрын
From day one, upon seeing the movie, the explanation that humans are batteries never satisfied. We do generate electricity, and heat which could theoretically be captured and incredibly inefficiently converted to electricity, but the amount is in the range of a few volts. At nowhere near the amperage required to power anything. ~2:00 in - geothermal. We have a winner. Even nuclear (safer for robots to mine radioactive material) fission-not even fusion-would suffice. No solar array we can produce today, or even in the near-ish future, will ever reach the energy densities required to power that much computational medium. Which absolutely means *humans* are the computational medium the Matrix is using. And that may have *always* been the case. Since the first artificial environments humans themselves would have been playing with prior to the war with the machines. *We* would have invented the technology that lead to our enslavement.
@Comicsluvr10 ай бұрын
This makes a lot more sense than using us for power, considering that you can use geothermal, wind, and even solar balloons that drift above the black layer.

Hmmm this may be far fetched but could Avatar take place in the same universe as the Matrix? The RDA goes to Pandora, a moon in the Alpha Centauri solar system to exploit their natural resources. One thing mentioned in the movies is that humans “killed their mother” or version of eywa.

The alien attack angle honestly opens up a broader picture ... if the machines were so Hellbent on capturing us, Whilst getting to know us and how our brains work to the deepest degree, WHILST also possibly being the ones to block out the sky, from outer life, It could be that the machines are truly on their own noble crusade to Truly preserve it's creators, on a more galactic scale than the humans realize, being buried underground and running away from "becoming part of the Matrix". I'll leave with a quote from The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy: "life has no meaning, only machine intelligence is Truly important, on a cosmic scale." - A.I.

Well said, my issue with blocking the sun to stop AI has been one I have had since 2001 when I first saw the film. I was in Class 6th (Grade 6th) and the water cycle is something which was etched into our heads after being repeatedly asked this question every science exam since class 4th. So I thought, wait, without the sun, how do plants and thus food grow ? Also to this date I am still confused by the Architect's monologue in Reloaded.

This theory actually makes sense. Blocking out the sun would only lead to the humans losing their food sources and a lot of other things. We would have no choice but to rely upon the machines. It would make sense that it was the machines who blocked out the sun to force us into slavery. But, if the machines don't need us, why not just completely destroy the human race? There are a lot of things that I can't agree with when it comes to the Matrix movies. But, it is still entertaining, even if it's ludicrous.
@Agatesforbrains11 ай бұрын
I always thought they kept humans around because as an intelligence with a biological parent who tried to kill them, it wants to reconcile. Humans are kept around and the matrix runs multiple resets, in order to get to a point of reconciliation.
