It is crazy seeing what rooms are recommended too, I know I always swiped my sons tablet while he is on Roblox and wipe his friends list and monitor every room he goes into and what he buys for his avatar. The jumping puzzles are fine, the racing games are fine, even the horror rip off games fine. There was one day he joined a dance club room, it was full of people and mind you my son can't read, but I skimmed the chat and it was very adult speech so I made him leave that room, and he got upset because he wanted to "Play in the dance room with the other kids" (his words.) I told him that was a grown ups room and he got upset and said "Roblox is for kids not grown up and that they are kids." then I had to sit him down and explain there are bad adults out there that will hurt kids and even if it is just a game that mommy doesn't want him playing video games with grown ups. He understands but still gets upset when I make him leave rooms I know aren't safe for him to be in. I really wish more parents would monitor what games their kids play and who is trying to talk to them. I get the argument of "oh everyone deserves privacy." but as a 15/16 y/o I was reached out to on DCUO by adults and they were very graphic about things they thought about and my parents didn't ever ask who I was talking to or look at my PSN messages and honestly I wish they had because I was threatened and talked to in vulgar ways and was to scared at that point to tell my parents how scared I was of these adults. I am 29 now and I am extremely protective of my children and I don't want them to see or hear the things I did from strange adults online like I did.

This video is interestingly ironic, I recently had a falling out with someone who I THOUGHT was my friend. I ended up figuring out that he was grooming me, and we met on Roblox. I won't disclose my age, but when we met, he said that he was a year YOUNGER than me, and I was naive enough to believe it. I'm safe now thankfully, and I doubt he has my location (I hope) but the odds of this video coming out so soon after is almost comedic in its timing. Edit: I've now finished most of the video, and I lived in almost the EXACT area of the 13 year old when this happened. That's insane to me, luckily I've moved away now.

Crazy how many of us played and knew there were weird things in Roblox and kept playing cause it was fun. For example, I remember being eight years old, playing as usually. Funny I see this now cause something really disturbing happened last night when I was playing with a friend. We were just playing this game with like 6 people per server and this girl joined the game and said that she knew where my friend lives and that they knew each other irl, which is really freaky and set off major red flags for both of us since my friend had literally no clue who she was. Turns out it was a miss understanding, but this girl stayed in game and kept obsessing over me, my friend, and 2 other people in the server, saying that she loved us and wants to stay with us forever. She even private messaged my friend saying that I was her and to back off from her. She said that she was older before which is really creepy and it made the 2 other people leave because she was really like almost acting like a yandere or some shit like really freaky. My friend and I thought she left, but she kept going back in our game. It was really annoying and honestly super creepy, especially since me and my friend are both minors.

When I was 11, I met a 15 year old boy about to turn 16 in a work rp game and I befriended him because he was nice to me. He convinced me to download discord so we could ‘talk’ more. He opened up to me and trauma-dumped on me with the intention of making me feel bad for him and afterwards, he pressured me into dating him (he knew my age) and knowing that he was depressed, I didn’t want to reject him in fear of him being more ‘depressed’ so I said yes. During the one year we dated, he would tell me inappropriate jokes even when I said I wasn’t comfortable and sent me a inappropriate picture of one of his friends (they’re a minor) I would have told a trusted adult what was going on but he told me that everything he was doing was legal and okay and told me to keep it a secret between us because we’re ’boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ I trusted him because he was nice and kind to me and I thought that he wasn’t a bad person because he helped me a lot when I was going through puberty. He would ask for pictures of me and every time I denied, he would guilt trip me and make me apologize for refusing. The breaking point was when we were playing Roblox in a rp game, we met this girl and she was also a minor, she was probably 8 by the way she was talking, she asked him if he wanted to rp with her and they ended up have online $3X. He even forced me to watch and was private chatting me laughing and enjoying the ‘rp’ after that, I told him what he did was wrong and I blocked him everywhere. I later deleted discord because being on there reminded me of all the horrible things he forced me to do. I’m not sure if it’s considered grooming but this experience definitely put a lasting impact on me and taught me that I can’t trust anyone on the internet. I’m in a better position now. Even if they’re a minor, doesn’t mean you can trust them. Please be careful on the internet.

TBH I think a big factor in all of this too is that we don't have the same internet safety stuff with kids anymore and giving middlescholers full phones. Like, I'm a younger genZ and in class I got the full be carful online showdown and while I did dumb stuff I kept myself safe. No matter what public game kids are on they're going to be creeps too but a lot of kids now are lacking those skills to be smart and protect themselves. I stopped playing roblox back in 2021, it just got boring and mid, i started playing roblox at the age of 7(2017) although there were still preds and shit like that it was still chill at that time but coming 2020 it just fell off. I never got contacted with pred cuz i stuck w/ irl friends and no online friends at that time. But i do have to say, if parents dont start speaking up and suing Roblox, then expect for other kids becoming a victim.

One time when I was 9 or 10, I was playing on Roblox one time on my laptop. I used to play Life in Paradise, and Adopt a Baby games. I made my avatar, and at the time I thought I was a girl so I put my name and single in my little bio thing. Changed my avatar on there. Someone came up to me (a guy avatar) and told me to follow him, and took me to his house (you could have an apartment on there, yada yada) and I followed him to one of the bedrooms. I was confused as hell ngl. He had me sit down on a bed and stood in front of me, and typed sounds you’d make while doing the deed (ahhs and mmms, y’know)I realized what was happening and panicked. My uncle was home and passed behind me but didn’t see, and I was still freaked out. I got off, closed my laptop and went to my room to play with my toys. I didn’t go back on roblox for a while 😭

I've been playing Roblox for over 13 years since I was 7 years old, all I've seen off Roblox is questionable stuff as moderation sucks as you can get banned over nothing or never get banned despite doing some weird stuff that isn't so kid friendly

So once I was playing Roblox with my nephew who is 4 years old and I was 15 we were playing Brookhaven and a guy came to me and said can I have your Instagram and I said no I am to young to have that and then he said what about snapchat I said no I said I am only 14 leave me alone and he said that's even better and then I said how old are you and he said 29 and he said "I would make you feel really good" and I reported him but he is still on roblox. It's been a year now and I make sure my nephew and nieces and cousins and neighbors are safe from these weirdos. I look through these roblox and I make sure I know all their friends on their and if I get a bad feeling from them I make them unfriend them and I look at their discord. I am very protective 😅
