Theo Von is one of the biggest comedians in the industry, but many people have no idea about his past, or what it took to get to where he is today.

I had a strange deal when I first started noticing Theo all over KZbin, like "Is he funny?" And left me helplessly neutral, like I was punch drunk and just couldn't put my finger on what is going on with him, his randomness is so unique that way. When the comic makes you think hard on what YOU, Yourself, are actually finding funny. He's a comedian social experiment that just worked, this happens every decade , like now if you're a comic and can't hold a long form conversation, you're one and done. But he's easy to listen too, and belly laugh hilarious, especially in this totally screwed up absurd reality we all live in presently, in the 70's or 80's he'd be shit. But his unintended use of turns of phrases and odd colloquialisms - is brilliant and irony laced, a byproduct of our very, again, strange f-ing world. People be strange man. And he came from world that makes him almost sagacious compared to more over the top or one note comics. His hustle seems to have payed off, as he anesthetizes us civilians, from our constant daily beatings of pure BAD NEWS in the world. ( Forgive my rambling, this was difficult for me to pinpoint, this wonderful character.)

When judging comedians, there are only two things that matter. 1:are they funny? 2: do they write their own material. For Theo, the answers are yes and yes. He deserves everything he has and more.

Theo's comedy is like fusion jazz. Sometimes it goes way off on tangents and long excursions. You may wonder how he could possibly ever return to the core of what he was talking about. But even out on a limb he can grab an unrelated branch and make it work incredibly. Occasionally the ride ends up somewhere in a different dimension but its still hilarious. This is so weird. Clearly, these are jokes he's telling about his childhood. This "documentary" is 80% scary music and 15% leading comments with innuendo. No real insights. I do love Theo Von because he talked about bicycles when he was on Tim Dillon and they were talking about incest. Historically in the 1890s there was an insane boom in bicycling. If you weren't landed gentry, you had to hang out in your village and probably kiss on your cousin. Bicycles allowed people to leave their villages on beautiful summer days and travel 60 miles to go kiss on someone else's cousin. I'm a crazy elderly bike dood, so Theo Von has almost total fealty from me for knowing that kernel of history.

I've never related more to Theo Von than now... this is almost a mirror of a life, minus the fame and money, I'm working on that still lol Also I'll say this, I wish I could be more like Theo Von. Not exactly in the comedy way, but more of how he overcame such struggle growing up and somehow didn't give up to become who he is today. I've tried this journey once or twice myself with some success, but man I envy those who are able to push through SO much tragic life stuff and do it with integrity. That's alot harder than u would understand if u don't relate to this comment, but some of us out here are suffering badly while trying to find some way, any way to get out of it. So strange how this video made me relate deeply to one of my favorite comics.

When I was watching jre back then I ended up becoming a fan of all his friends that he had on the podcast, they were on it all the time and at that time I was the only person I knew that watched them. None of my friends new who theo was even though he was big at the time, and now all of them in this small Irish town know who he is, I hop in a car with My friend and he's watching theo, I was so surprised. But he's that big now. I guess that sphere of the Internet was kind of niche but it's really cool to see how he's risen. I felt many of the people in my life were missing out on not knowing who Theo was, but they know now.

Theo vons comedy is random and insane and that's why it's so good. I guess squares and people who live for the status quo wouldn't appreciate it

In comedy one of the highest honours is being known as a comic that can make other comics crack up. And Theo can definitely do that.

Totally agree and it's not really a knock on him. I love Joe and Schaub (in doses) on podcasts but I don't think their stand up is funny. Joe is less funny in general but his podcast is great.

I just discovered him recently. He is an authentic, kind and funny guy from a rough background in Louisianna. He is a highly intelligent, sensitive soul, who has suffered greatly and battled a lot of demons. He is sweet, sharp and empathetic. He doesn't so much stand up and crack jokes but he is a captivating teller of meandering tales. He has the depth and genius to see all sides of life, thru the lens of a boy born into a poor family in the deep south. There is a languid charm about him that is very New Orleans.

Background aside or any other issues, Theo Von is completely worth all the celebrity he has received. He's the best. And by the way, Theo already talked about all of this himself. Having this kind of background gives you a treasure trove of stories.

Theo’s humble beginnings is something that makes him even more likeable than 99% of the comics out there.. I could be having the worst day and after watching some or even just one of his videos and I’m feeling better.. The guy deserves to be where he is today he’s a legend..

I’m very fussy when it comes to comedians Tend to go for the older ones with the more older style of comedy Pryor, Carlin, norm, O’Neal Chappelle (Generally before the days of Pc and having to cater comedy to specific people) But Theo is one of the very few I kind of became a fast fan of He just really has nothing to dislike of him He doesn’t come off as a bad guy and very likeable. That and he’s pretty funny

I used to think the guy with no arms that would fight everybody was one of those things Theo made up but as time goes on I almost feel like I saw that guy down here. Literally though even though he makes stuff up you have to understand that there are so many bewildering people down here in the deep south and in the swamp with the cajun cross-breeding so he's just combining a little bit of everything. There are characters out here.
