It is true that Bob & Peter had different ideas about the direction of reggae music. The contribution that these two legends made to reggae music is not in doubt in the minds of the people who have studied their respective approaches. However, what is unforgiveable is the fact it is frequently the case that only one name appears to be remembered and often credited for their contribution to the advancement of reggae music, and that is Bob Marley, despite the fact that before Bob Marley, there was the Wailers, and the fact that before his death Peter was becoming increasingly known to an international audience, with sold out concerts around the world, the attention of international journalists and other commentators, with his inspiring and powerful musical lyrics and musical arrangements. One recent example of ignoring Peter’s contribution is the Bob Marley movie which failed to capture the contribution that Peter Tosh in particular, but also Bunny Wailer and others made to the development of reggae music. This should not be the case and is a poor acknowledgement of Peter Tosh’s legacy.

I definitely agree with you on this one. Peter has been relegated to the background, and all the praise is being showered on Bob, which I think is unfair. You know, the world doesn’t like people who speak the truth; maybe that’s why they are trying so hard to bury Peter’s achievements.

T@@ReggaeVaulttired of people trying to rewrite history to suit themselves...Bob was by far the dominant songwriter in the Island years and as far back as 1970 upon the release of their Soul Rebel and the 5 albums leading up to Burnin' of 1973..The songwriting credits clearly say so..Even Bunny was the least contributor in this regards penning just a handful of songs..Of all their albums of the Reggae era Burnin' more or less reflected a broader songwriting collaboration between the 3 of them, though Bob had more of share in credit being the best writer..And Peter never disputed bob's writing credentials his main problem (as he saw it) was being exclude from a more prominent role..

The death of the tri-artist gave birth to a monumental legacy. The fisrt time I had Peter Tosh sing I instinctively knew that was the artist I was gonna play for the rest of my life.Yes I am suffering from Toshmyeiltis. @@lovmorvr It’s not a competition. As in Bob’s own words in an almost chuckling tone, “I don’t compete, I don’t compete.” This response was made in response to an interviewer’s question about a perceived rivalry and competition between Bob and Peter. People like Bob who are self-assured and who overstand that they exist to serve and fulfill a preordained purpose, don’t engage in petty jealousy-driven rivalries like some rock stars, many rappers, and most women.

I am not sure what you are trying to say . If that was Peter's strategy do you overstand that it was a waste of time? The only way to get their music and message out was through the major labels run by the crooks. Peter never found any alternative but ended up on E.M.I. and I believe Columbia to get neglected and cheated as was the norm.

@thenowchurch6419 no dat was not da only way.. da only way was to utilize your brain.. we are da creators of all.. unite.. start our own.. if mu kind came together on one timg just a number of em.. not all but ya know.. it will come to pass. We don't need each other, but why not utilize and NOT abuse each other ya know... you only need self.. but all around is very vital for self to accomplish self's mission.. basically, we are Supreme beings. We don't need what da races we created need.. feel mi.. all we need is each other..we are da music. We are da producers. We are da masters. We are da instrument players.. we are da show ya know but feeling lack and greed is a yya know what and dats all it was.. dey desired for da lighter face to be da face. It was for looks because who taught Bob to play guitar, peter..The wailers. NOT Bob and da wailers, but da Wailers songs consist mostly of Peter's writing. Dey both mu guys. But truth is truth. Why have any ting but dat/truth or don't speak ya know/secrecy is commenced......but i do overstand you... like i said, losing integrity is always da easier and faster way a lot of times to make your biggest achievements happen, but when you don't compromise your integrity, your fruits may or shall last longer.. most of all, your BREATH/Life..
@RastamanElBey496
@RastamanElBey496 Ай бұрын
@thenowchurch6419 da system da system... da wailers.. not Bob n da wailers. Peter taught Bob to play guitar.. da Wailers songs consist mostly of Toshs writings... just truth.. lighter face was da face.. it was actually four wailers by da way... both were mu leaders....but i desire truth and stand for truth..but remember losing integrity may get you your goals faster but how long will dey last and what's da cost is da question... wisdom is better dan silver and gold. Bob basically saying.. I sold out.. i should've listened..
@RastamanElBey496
@RastamanElBey496 Ай бұрын
@thenowchurch6419 remember we need NOT what we created.. we are da supremely beings we need self.. each other is very helpful and useful and yes we are supposed to make ones goals attainable for another through access but dats so not da case so.. omnistanding of knowledge is real vital so you could be in more control of flesh and not in captivity just because you loss da integrity to your goals.. well material goals but when one searches for completion of ultimate/soul"s goal. Dey become more aware of what life is.. its breathing basically. Dis da key to all desires.. breathing. What keeps you breathing longer.. ya know what decreases ones breath.. definitely being compromised of morals.. souls goals. Ya know..selling out... when we are da music. We are da creators we'll our mothers are but if you're copper 9 ether den understand go search but if not you may already know diss 😉.. mubkind of people can do anything. Uniting just makes it easier as it should we must use each other our own kind not da races we created.. we need NOT what dey may need. One ting is oxygen ya know..
