Players don’t love the game anymore. They love the money and it’s the only reason why they play. There’s no passion anymore

Cricket has become more like football where players give more importance to franchise/league tournaments over International games and getting paid so much than they would've ever dreamt off In-game rivalries and true passion to win for the country are missing these days due to evolution of franchise cricket

Couldn't agree more and I dont know when and how it started. But I dont think our next generation will remember players like Don Bradman, Sachin, Glen Mcgrath. just because these players had skills, they were not putting every ball out of stadium. there are numerous names in cricket, who have no skills yet they are famous and loved, just because k un ki vibe ee alag hai. hmari generation ki sb sy brri problem ee yeh vibe word hai.

Cricket is supposed to be a contest between bat and ball. Instead it has become a contest between who can throw more bat at ball. Revive pitches. Nurture quality bowlers and cricket will live along with earning money irrespective of the format in which it is played

Cricket is doing what it should be doing: entertaining people, which is what sports are meant to do. Players chasing fame, money, or endorsements are product of this century, and everyone, including cricketers and football players, are accepting that, which is pretty much okay. What is not okay is Pakistani cricket, which is at its lowest point since the Champions Trophy. The team is pathetic and the supporters are equally disheartening. Just my opinion. Btw a good video

Art of cricket is not dying it's just in modern era u have to be money oriented otherwise lack of money can cause existential threat to the game, moreover i don't think bowling 150 is not an art, hitting sixes on a flat deck might not be, but cricket in general is earning a lot of money then it use to, second test cricket is there to showcase classic skill nd i too support it nd it's supremacy as the best format of cricket nd one thing for sure we must increase the money of test cricketers as suggested by md. Hafiz to make it more lucrative for more skilled players, also the era prior to this is considered as golden era of cricket nd cricket went unnoticed in it's bcoz of only one factor that is cash crunch, we had sachin, lara, punter, inzi, kallis, cook nd many others nd same goes with bowling as well so overall cricket need money to thrive nd for that t20 is best but our priority should be clear that it is test that is the king of cricket nd it should get more money more eye balls
@crticsandcuriosityАй бұрын
I loved your comment, this is a healthy argument. you said exactly what I was trying to say in my video. but dont you think t20 is somehow somehow causing a decline to the other formats, or maybe considering our team maybe my judgement is too bias as our team is not doing good on any of the format but I know money is important, it brings revenue, it brings more eyes to the game, this is what i mentioned during my video. but again I think it is causing a big decline to the other formats.
@nayan_dixitАй бұрын
@@crticsandcuriosity for sure T20 is causing the decline but without being too much biased I guess the decline of Pakistan in cricket is a multi-faceted problem nd yess as an Indian I don't face this issue bcoz Indian team don't play any other league but yess there is no doubt every city is not rome, the obsession to play franchise cricket is hampering test cricket, to be true there should be a dedicated window of atleast 3 to 4 months dedicated for test cricket 2 months in summer 2 months in winter, also u should make a video on what r the reasons of decline of Pakistan in cricket (I guess u r from there, if u aren't sorry for assuming). It hurts as a fan of a national team that prior to a test series ur players r trying to get NOC for Canada league nd if it would have been the case with India I would have hated the concept as much as u do so in ur pov u r right.
@crticsandcuriosityАй бұрын
your guess is right, and I'm not an emotional guy. I usually am not biased this much. but I feel bad for the test cricket. When I see Steve Smith, or watch some old highlights of Pujara playing in a test. That version of cricket is disappearing.

So hitting sixes bowling yorkers or bowling 150kmph does not require skill?? If it was all about slogging and muscle power every tom dick harry would have been kohli and bumrah... I dont understand the criticism players get for chasing money... Everyone who does what they do they do it for money... Its the glamour and the money that has produced some amazing entertaining matches recently which has brought in new audiences... Its the money that keeps a sport alive...
@crticsandcuriosityАй бұрын
I'm not saying bowling yorkers, hitting sixes does not require skills. I'm just saying that the most loved form of the cricket, the original, pure format of the cricket is decaying just because of these. If you love the game you got to love the original version of it whether it was on a blurry black and white screen or on a plasma. Hell, there are a few names in modern cricket who have played their full careers, not just because the style of game has changed but the values have been changed.
@youtubeacc666Ай бұрын
@@crticsandcuriosity you are putting undue emphasis on old form of cricket without justifying what made it entertaining... Just because something is old doesn't make it pure... If u want cricket to go back to the old time of teams scoring 150 runs in 50 overs and other teams losing even after batting their whole 50 overs then trust me no one would be interested... And it won't take even 5 yrs for the sport to go extinct... U have not given a single reason why modern cricket is bad which it isn't and your accusations that it lacks technique is highly ridiculous coz wasting 50 balls to score 10 runs or bowling same length deliveries for 10 overs isn't called technique
@crticsandcuriosityАй бұрын
woah woah I'm not making any accusations here.. that is your perspective that this is how I think about the modern day cricket.. But my video is not about slow and fast cricket. You are not noticing the shift in the game, my research and my point of view can be wrong. Being money oriented is a different thing, at the end we all know that thatswhy they play and they play fast. but just before the test series there are instances players were applying for NOCs to play in some league, are you out of your mind. WestIndies and newzealand boards have policies to prioritize IPL over their international matches. This video is about that, not about today's thrill and fast cricket is bad than the old cricket. it was not about that.
@youtubeacc666Ай бұрын
@@crticsandcuriosity review your own video and your own comments and the number of times you have mentioned skill and ludicrously tried to relate it with the act of hitting sixes... Batsman hit sixes because they got no skill?? Are you out of your mind?? And yes prioritizing franchise cricket over the nation can be unwelcomed move but that's an individual's matter to address just that does not make modern cricket any bad... Your research (or lack of it) just reeks of confirmation bias
@crticsandcuriosityАй бұрын
Ah, well, thanks for the research advice! Clearly, you’ve mastered the art of dismissing entire points based on your selective interpretation. Silly me for thinking the sport had depth beyond brute force. but as you said choosing leagues mid-series is all about 'individual choices,' right? Interesting how players choosing leagues over national duty is an individual's matter, but my perspective on the sport is suddenly a problem for you. If you're so big on respecting personal choices, maybe extend that courtesy to my video too. After all, I'm just sharing an individual viewpoint, much like those players choosing cash over country. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Carry on, cricket connoisseur!
