The game reset vs checkpoint reset point was hilarious Lol Also Nah, Beetlegeuse wondered if Subaru was the Archbishop Pride, as he himself is the Archbishop Sloth. They grabbed Subaru because of his witch miasma on him being so strong and were curious who he was and why it's so strong on him (Rem and Ram detected the miasma on Subaru a bunch of times prior too)

Hello, Translation Man back again to cover some mistranslations/poor translations. For starter's this one is written correctly, but it is poorly worded when saying it, but the Witch's Cult is just that, a Cult of The Witch, singular. Next is something that nobody would catch without reading the source text, but the madman's name is actually Petelgeuse (said as Petal guice, rhymes with juice) Lastly, the title he has as Archbishop representing sloth would he better written as Archbishop in charge of sloth. I'm impressed Carlie and Ange caught on to the other details he says in his madness, like how hes kinda gatekeeping insanity. Ill be back next time theres a major issue with the subtitles. Thanks!

The literal best episode of any anime I have ever seen. It is hard for a single 25 minute episode out of dozens to stick out so dramatically and stay with you for so long. I will never, ever forget my first time seeing this episode. As the credits rolled, I laid down on my bed and just sat there thinking for like 10-15 minutes after it ended, just staring at the ceiling. I was not ready for that emotional rollercoaster that late at night in 2017 or 2018. It was this episode that proved to me that the author of the books and the anime writers were on another level, and knew what they were doing. While I think season 1 was flawed, the story-telling potential and world-building showed great care and skill. The groundwork was being laid for one of the best anime stories ever told. Its got a long way to go, but boy has it delievered so far.

You probably already know some of these things but for the sake of context: When Betelgeuse talks about Subaru having an intense "love" in him, he's referring to the witches scent (he can also smell it, just like the mabeasts, ram and rem. That's also how Rem managed to find Subaru). He asked if Subaru is pride because each witch has an archbishop and he thought that Subaru was Pride for that reason. Also, as a way to show affection, Puck refers to Emilia as "his daughter".

Later he will respawn Example in cut content of s1 ep 7 After jumping off the cliff and dying, before respawning, Subaru finds himself in a dark ethereal realm, in which a humanoid shadow appears to him, and someone voices the words “I cannot meet you. Not yet.” In s1 ep 11 After being knocked unconscious after Roswaal appears to save the day by burning the Witchbeasts, Subaru finds himself in the dark ethereal realm yet again, in which the shadow, now in the shape of a woman, approaches him, And in s1 ep 15 After dying from frozen while holding Rem’s dead body, Subaru finds himself in the dark ethereal realm and meets the shadow woman yet again, feeling intense emotions that he can’t understand towards her, to which she replies by grazing him with her fingertips

The Betelgeuse thing is actually wrong. His name is actually Petelgeuse, with the 'P' being intentional. We don't know why his name is spelled wrong but it is completely intentional and a mystery that has yet to be explained. Also, Petelgeuse's rant during him torturing Rem is very important if you pay close attention to what exactly is he saying.
