Anna and Blake on the loose is hilarious. The human lighthouse is pure gold. I have to wonder how they manage not to giggle when they have to do the serious product presentation because I am sure they'll try and make each other laugh.

Been using magicshine montear 6500 for a couple of years now. I dont think I'll use another brand for a long time. I love the fact the battery pack doubles up as a powerbank for your phone. As I connect my phone to my bike for a route it can drain the battery on long rides. So the powerbank is perfect for me 👌🏻

I have a magicshine 6500s monteer and a Exposure Diablo 12 . more than enough light for in the scottish woods. the thing to remember is to charge them up fully beforehand. not like my son the other night.thanks for another great video

For those Winter Night Rides in the Peak District I tend to pack on the safe side - so make sure I have a couple of little spare lights (just for visibility if the big ones fail) - good first aid kit (inc. survival blanket) and some warm clothing (hat, spare gloves etc - it gets cold if there is a mechanical). I'm all for packing light, but it can turn bad really quickly if you are not ready for it 🤘

I use a not so bright red helmet light because you don't want to blind your buddy when looking at them. Bright Handlebar lights are essential.
@richr7516 Жыл бұрын
12,000 lm, holy cow. I'm happy with my 900 bar and 400 on my helmet. But then again, the trails we ride are tight, twisty single in the deep woods where you don't need to see 1/4 mile down the trail like what you were riding. I suppose you would need more for faster trails though, nothing fast here. 🙃

My favourite type of riding. I dont think you need as many lumens as 4000, unless they are Chinese lumens. I have 1800LM on the bars and a 1200LM on my helmet. Plenty bright enough. When I get back in the van to come home I think the bulbs have blown and its just the side lights on. Takes a while for the eyes to adjust back to "normal" lights again.

I agree, I've got 2200 bar and 1000 helmet and it's plenty - I definitely don't need any more.

12000 lumens is overkill, I've been riding regularly for years through the winter with Exposure lights a max 800 lumens on the helmet & max 3500 lumens on the handlebars. Also don't ride trails with a rear light, it can blind riders behind & if you meet other riders, don't blind them with your lights.

I like riding at night, especially in summer if the day has been crazy hot. If i'm going alone, I stick to trails I know well. Less likely to get turned around, or run into the wrong kind of "wildlife".
@TreyGruel11 ай бұрын
As much as I enjoyed watching your antics in the dark, I hope you cleared it ahead of time and it doesn't encourage others to do the same at Kielder or any other Dark Sky sites. They've been certified as Dark Sky Sites/Parks for a reason and often to work to maintain that status, including having restrictions on lighting. They're important for observing the night sky and people tooling around with bright lights - especially extremely bright white lights like that - will ruin it.

I've tried biking at night a handful of times. But most of the time I go by myself as my riding buddies dont have night riding lights. My bar light is magicshine 1500rn and 800 lumen headlamp. For me it's more than enough to light up the trails. I can honestly say its both amazing and eerie at the same time and something that every mountain biker should experience. Every time i ride at night I can't help but think that someone or something is watching or stalking me. Lol I know its just my imagination and I guess that part of the trill of riding at night alone. As for gear, i just take the same stuff when I ride in the day. My cellphone in case of emergency, multi tool, plugs, co2 pump and zip ties.

4000 lumens minimum, what’s the point of riding at night if that’s the base? 1200 on the head and 1200 on the bike.

I love to ride in the night, it's just that my lights are nowhere near enough to get up to speed with a fake 500 lumen light that performs more like a 130 lumen one...the headlight, even a shitty one helps a lot though.

Lol, i ride at night with about 300-800 lumens and i'm really satisfied with that. Also 12000 lumens equals to about 80w of LED power. Xenon headlights are in the range of 2x35w usually. I have doubts about the real power output.

You rode with very bright white lights, in my experience this is not the way to do it especially when damp you get a snow effect where the leaves and anything wet and shiny reflects causing you not to see properly. Also with this type way of using/white light there is a huge difference between what is lit and what isn't... So In fact are you seeing less. You are also causing the rider in front of you to not be able to see properly due to shadows. I use and really like the L & M seca lights which many companies copied the shape of. They have a slightly warmer light Great beam pattern... BUT a ridiculously long lead, and battery shapes that could have been better... But for me the best beam/kelvin rating lamp. I also like the Exposure joysticks which give a great beam for bike packing/end of day just in case light. I occasionally try their larger lights but the light is too white and the pattern not as good especially using it on higher then lower beam settings it needs to be moved up or down on the bars. Great pity light and motion never made a really good self contained large light!

Night rides used to be epic with 50 lumen halogen pezl headlights or without light under the full moon, with a 300 lumen led headlight and a 600 lumen flood on the bars i went from a rolling lighthouse late 90's to rolling in my own shadow 2010,.. mtb evolved, a 1995 DH track is now a gravelbike ride but when i am alone i can ride enduro tracks at speed with 1800 lumend on the bar and 900 on the helmet. With other riders with much brighter lights around my eyes adjust to the bright light so i needed to upgrade,.. now i ride up to 4000 on the helmet, 8000 on the bars,..
