I’m seriously confused as to why people are hating on the movie, like, we all knew it was going to be a YA movie and, in my opinion, it was way better than most due to the diversity in its cast. People are sooo upset because it’s very similar to YA, dystopian movies, but we signed up for it when we watched it. AND, to address the ending, it was left open-ended for a reason: to keep you excited for another movie. Please don’t give such bad reviews because it might hinder the production of another film in the series.

Because if you're a fan on the book, it's nothing like the book at all. They dumbed it down to almost nothing of substance, changed even the barest bones of the plot, and made it exactly like any other shitty teen dystopian. If we are going based on adaptation, it's the percy Jackson movies all over again, if we are going purely based on the movie as a whole, it was tone deaf and the pacing was way off. The characters were flat and ill defined, a part from Chubs, and the love interests were just horny rabbits running around in circles.

Alice Audreyy I will admit that, as a fan of the book series, I was disappointed in the ways that they changed certain parts of the plot, but no movie is ever going to be anywhere near how good to book was and we should be well aware of the going into it. In regards to it being ‘just another teen dystopian movie’ like that’s seriously WHY a lot of us watched it. We wanted another dystopian movie.

Honestly, i hope they come out with a another movie, because what they left us on was basically a cliff hanger. Guys, Don't try comparing the book and movie. Just don't. Seriously, you are going to be disappointed. I get that the movie is based off the books, but the movie is never going to be as good as the book. They can't add all the details in, because they are not going to make a 6 hour movie. They did leave a few things out, and that kinda aggravated me, but if I wouldn't have read the book, I would've thought the movie was perfect. The movie seemed rushed because all those little things and details in the books, seemed important and they couldn't add all of them. Don't be an ass and say the movie was horrible. They did really good. It served the first book justice. Just watching this movie makes me want to read the first book all over again.

Spoilers: I never thought I'd say this but I'll be happy if they change things because Ruby was pretty stupid after book 1. I also hope they explore REDs more and not just treat them as an idea and keep killing off every REDs they encounter. This also brings me to my next point that is Cole... I cried and I won't be sitting still if he gets the same ending as the books. COLE DESERVED BETTER ! HE DESERVED TO BE TREATED AND RESPECTED BY THESES CHILDREN WHO DID NOTHING BUT QUESTION HIM!! In the best case scenario, I hope Ruby dies, her death will serve more purpose after book 2 instead of J's death. Just saying.
