I always thought Imperfect Cell consuming that one guy was pretty brutal. The guy was pleading for his life, offering all the money he had, and Piccolo just watched him fade away. Later on, you could see the souls of everyone Cell had eaten when he powered up. The best you can hope for is that those souls were eradicated, and not just living in a state of constant agony until Cell was finally defeated for good.

@@toasega yeah that is super dark, although a lot of it is anime-only so it does stop me from putting it on par with the van zant stuff. Something about knowing its penned by Toriyama who was such an expert at the light stuff makes the darker moments feel even darker.

I think the atrocity’s committed by the demon piccolo clan is definitely up there in terms of evil deeds and moments

Moment that made me go "holy shiz" in DBZ... 4 year old Gohan finds an injured Dinosaur, He spends days tending to its wounds, feeding it, giving it water, and talking and laughing with it. One day he goes off to find more medical herbs to put on its wounds. He comes back a few hours later to a half eaten skeleton, of his friend, and a T-rex face deep eating its insides. Gohan just stands there in horror... Watching for a while. If you think this was the DARK moment then..... Insert Lebron James- *SIKE!!!!!!* After that happened, Gohan chased that T-rex for his entire training ark under Picolo, and cut chunks off of it as food. Gohan ensured that the T-rex never died, so he could keep feeding off of it, the way it fed off of his friend. Just a little added context, in super while Gohan was training for the tournament, its shown that he is in the woods cooking a giant steak over a camp fire. Only to see the mountain behind him move.... camera pans out to show that the mountain behind him is actually the same T-rex that then notices its missing tail, sees Gohan, cries, and runs off in abject horror. This tells us that Gohan has been hunting, torturing, AND EATING this T-rex for DECADES!!!!! I can see that T-rex trying to end its self by jumping from a cliff, Gohan sensing its life force disappear, gets the dragon balls and wishing it back.... On some "You do not d*e... Till I say you can!" type shiz. Now THAT is dark.
