“…what pieces of my heart am I holding back…”- Father you hit the nail on the head!! I hear the Lord through you answering my quandary as to “the way wherein should walk”. Furthermore, I have been doubting my faith as I began to question whether it would ever be possible to become a “good” Christian because it seems following in the path of Christ is so difficult and challenging (the “narrow gate” as Christ refers to), but suddenly upon hearing you say that it is actually our fear of letting that light in that will overcome that darkness that it made me realized that that is what is preventing me from totally embracing Christ. I have been enlightened and I hear God speaking to me through your words.

David Goggins preaches self improvement without repentance. That just heaps more and more demonic pride and self assurance. It's a product of modern thought and culture. And quite frankly, it's dangerous.

Yes but it's just used as an example here to illustrate the importance of right actions and the part that plays in shaping us once the insights of penitence have been revealed. Then it's useful in this context.

Thank you for your insights, Father. My heart cry has been for the Lord to remove the darkness within me and now I understand so much more of what it truly is. How much more effective is the, "good fight" when we have the right understanding of our interior world.
