That's the reality of Kenya entertainment industry... scarcity mentality rules. The older,wiser ,more experienced people (old timers with financial power) feel threatened by talented newbies which is a fear response to their own perceived inadequacies or lack of talent -rather than building/mentoring they kill upcoming talent. This is true to the entire KE creative industry:actors,thespians,authors musicians,artists,film directors, photographer etc rather than build the creative industry it kills it or slows its growth. Let's not pretend that just because a platform has built people can't be toxic to some.The same applies to our families,we can experience growing up with different members differently...let's not invalidate people's experiences just because these people we have idolized based on their well crafted public personas . Look globally...who would have thought Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah could be a toxic boss? Many creatives are struggling with their mental health because of this normalized culture of exploitation and gatekeeping that destroys dreams by blackballing anyone that doesn't tow the line-the vocal,the ones who stand up for themselves/others suffer the most , that's the sad reality of most creative economies all over the world especially in Kenya.

I can see people are mad because these gentlemen are talking about the untold sides of their work environment at Churchill. You keep saying ati they were built on that platform but you ignore the fact that the platform run because of them. He wrote a lot of scripts he never got credit for, he had to start doing his own stuff like SPM Buzz and scriptwriting and those are technical skills which has less to do with fame. In short, the conditions of work at Laugh Industry was controlled by other people like Victor Ber (Teacher Wanjiku's (ex)husband) who constantly demeaned and frustrated comedians and Churchill's lack of involvement in welfare of his apprentices killed the spirit of the show.

Butita is a victim of his talent. I love comedy but I see him more of a creator than the stage man. When I listen to him I find him very creative, too talented in that aspect to own all that content. Him and Mkurungezi aren't the best stand up comedians but the best in coming up with mistari. There are those made for the comedy stage like Mammito, MCA Tricky, Professor Hamo and others.
