Great episode! Been using your skin since it got released. Not going to lie, I went back and forth a couple of times to the regular skins with attributes, but like you said in your intro video, the first thing you look at is attributes and obsessing over tiny increases, instead of looking at how players actually play. This channel should definitely blow up in the future! Keep it up my friend!

You could probably retrain Kedziora as a right wingback if you're looking for a defensive option as he can play as a rightback anyways. Also you can try using Zivkovic there too as an attacking option as he's playing there in the Serbian national team in real life, in a very similar 3-4-2-1
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
I do like retraining players, and I have done so with Murg for the LWB slot, but minor injuries and stupid red cards have stopped him from getting much game time. Might be bold to move Zivkovic there with him playing so well at the tip of the diamond, but who knows what might happen in the future!

A very useful video. Now I use your skin, the challenge is to correctly interpret the data. One question - when, referring to a pizza graph, you say a player is in the "90th percentile ", is that absolute or relative; ie compared to other players in the same league or not?
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
It is compared to peers across the Top 20 leagues in their position group (when a position group is selected). The underlying numbers are static, from analysis performed in FM24 across 25,000 players. All explained here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGm2kH-LqtaMqKMsi=4LzU2BPS1v8ijqqg&t=299
@phnompenhandy11 ай бұрын
@@mustermannfm Ah, good to know. So less applicable to lower league managers like myself.
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
@@phnompenhandy not really. Whilst players might be of worse quality, their opposition are too, and so the relative comparison is still valuable. You are more likely to find outliers in lower leagues, where occasionally players might be playing one or two levels below their ability, and absolutely tearing it up, and you should always be aware of the strength of league when looking at things from a recruitment perspective. Obviously, Greece isn't lower league, but they're outside the Top 20, as was the South African 2nd division when I was playing there in FM23. In both situations, the Pizza Charts remain relevant. One of the reasons the Top 20 leagues were chosen was because of research. Whilst, I cannot verify and it is very subjective, I believe it is reasonable to assume that the attributes for players playing at the higher end are likely to be more accurate.

Love an upload notification from the main mustermann. I'm still learning the skin with Newcastle as I know the team. But once I learn everything I can using Newcastle, unsure how to move on. Would it be best to continue learning with a big team I know nothing about like Salzburg? or just like always picking the lowest leagues, unemployed & badgeless?
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
Personally, I reckon the most important thing is to pick a team that you'll enjoy. Do you prefer lower league saves, then pick a lower league team. Do you prefer teams in big leagues, then choose one of those. You're always going to be assessing players relative to others at the same level, so you'll gain most from doing the thing you'll enjoy most.

How did you get the graphic at 5:31 ?
@NordicGriffin11 ай бұрын
Agreed. I've been using the skin and never seen that haha or is that just photo editing for the episode? 🤯
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
@@NordicGriffin it is editing for the episode. I use the "Attributes" page on the player profile to create specific things to screenshot (the benefits of being a skinner) and then use Figma for storyboards. This is for all the non-match stuff. All done externally so I can easily control transitions between information, rather than having to click between players and news articles and align it all to a voiceover. Basically just a glorified slideshow 🤣

Nice one! Samatta played for Villa?
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
Indeed. A panic buy after Wesley Moraes suffered a horror injury against Burnley. Played 14 times, scored once, then sent out on loan (and eventually sold) to Fenerbahce 6 months later. Not his fault at all.

Which 4 lines in the settings XML are for the colour of the attribute circles? Just so I can have a completely different colour for each one. I can understand them better and remember them more easily. Also what line is for the number of items in the inbox? The yellow stops me seeing the number. I'm messed up I know sorry.
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
The section in the XML that starts "low attribute" from row 275 onwards. As for the inbox item notification, from what I recall most things here is actually controlled by the xml for the icon itself. That's graphics/buttons/custom/interface/notification/button.xml

For me, I often find it challenging to attempt data style scouting, especially when dealing with players who lack significant playing time and have limited statistics, it's difficult to identify the right criteria for evaluation. How can you evaluate players who haven't played much and don't have impressive stats? Should the focus be on their attributes, or is there another method to have a faith in their potential contribution to the team
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
To have faith? No. Every player has an element of risk, and it's up to you where your tolerance is. Performance is ultimately the sum total of attributes, tactical set-up, fitness and morale. Potential is just the belief that a player can improve. There is always going to be a heirarchy. I'll put it this way. I want to buy a new guitar. I can go to a guitar shop, and try out a guitar I like. I can learn how comfortable it is, whether I can get the tone I want and whether I feel it represents value for money. I can also go online and listen to read the specs of a different guitar. It might have better potential, but until you experience it's performance, it's nothing but theory.
@brianp99311 ай бұрын
I am very interested to see how your scouting results turn out with a one star CA threshold! Would you actually look at a player of the caliber??
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
It's all about not restricting results. A scout might initiall assess someone quite low, but once they've fully scouted them consider them to be good enough. If the CA threshold is high to begin with they'll discard that player early in the process. Ultimately, somewhere close to January, we'll go through the recommendations, look at performance and make decisions from there.
@jakewallsgrove197711 ай бұрын
What tactics do you run or do you show them anywhere ?
@mustermannfm11 ай бұрын
The base is explained in the DIAMOND episode: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-9oH2wp9iXjLc It is constantly evolving, and there isn't a singular tactic.

After 2010 Panathinaikos was in lots of debt. Also league titles are won outside the football pitch in Greece. Olympiacos have been match fixing and stealing league titles for decades now, most of these would have been won by Panathinaikos. But Panathinaikos remains the greek team with the best european history. 2 semi finals and 1 final. Even in years we almost reached the Champions League semis, Olympiacos would win the league by 10 points. Watch the Katsouranis "offside" goal in an Olympiacos - Panathinaikos derby and you'll see what this league truly is
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
I know that Koriopolis was just the tip of the iceberg, and there have definitely been studies into the levels of corruption within the league. It's hard to assert that there are any "major" teams that aren't complicit somewhere within their history, though.
@FunnyNameKEKW9 ай бұрын
@mustermannfm I mean you just have to look at who the beneficiaries were. Panathinaikos and AEK were basically denied the chance to compete for titles during that period. There have been phone calls that surfaced of Olympiacos owner talking to referees and telling them to fix matches. Olympiacos fans would storm the pitch in some games (fought with pao players in one) and they wouldn't get punished while all other teams would be if anything like that happened. Also Karaiskakis was meant to be a stadium for both Olympiacos and Ethnikos but Kokkalis (olympiacos president back then) pulled some strings for it to only be the stadium of Olympiacos. Also Marinakis and Kokkalis have had falling outs with the former basically admitting Kokkalis was match fixing and stealing titles.
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
@@FunnyNameKEKW indeed - if you see throughout the series, I make reference to the complicity of Olympiacos and PAOK in recent history.
