Before DNA and interagency communication, it was easier to get away with it and easier to get a higher body count. Totally. ...but it's not like the serial killers all had a meeting and said "Alright guys, it's been a good run, but we've got to find another hobby." Lmao These people are compelled to kill regardless of the state of technology. Killers are going to kill. These people may get caught after only their first or second killing instead of their 12th. ....but they still exist. ...and they definitely still exist in poorer countries, where you can get away with almost anything.

It seems like they could have charged him with rape and kidnapping without the child being a witness. There was evidence of the other driver who followed Alcala and forensic evidence of rape. Even if she had "willingly" gone with him- she was a child and could not consent to go with a stranger, and he had no right to take her.

Had a co-worker do this kind of thing years ago. He went on to try to rape a woman co-worker. Company tried to cover it all up. He got completely off.

I have always heard about this man but never heard the whole of his crime. I didn’t know there were this many women. My dad instilled in me at a young age how evil people are and to always look out for yourself. Growing up with a bus load of brothers taught me how to take care of myself. I can honestly say I’ve saved myself from a few close calls. I always rely on my inner voice and try to always listen to it.

It was hardly a lack of effort, and it sure as hell wasn't because society didn't value attractive young white females, the most valued thing in America. @@laurenhoffman2751 My mother and one of her ex husbands sported color coordinated outfits in the 70s with hats to match. So yes I'm aware. She also got a perm so she could have a blonde Afro. And although it was the 70s I think that his hair actually looked like that because he was trying to grow it out or something and it was in that mushroom stage. But now that I think about it.. he looks rather creepy considering the fact that he is a serial killer and considering the horrible things that he did to his victims. 🫤
