DNA was game changer for police. Serial killers can't get away with it for long anymore.

Think of how easy it was for them to operate back then. That's one of the reasons we don't really have serial killers any more.
@clicheguevara5282

@@daviddemaria3982 Um... what??? Where are you getting that from? We _absolutely_ still have serial killers and we ALWAYS will. Before DNA and interagency communication, it was easier to get away with it and easier to get a higher body count. Totally. ...but it's not like the serial killers all had a meeting and said "Alright guys, it's been a good run, but we've got to find another hobby." Lmao These people are compelled to kill regardless of the state of technology. Killers are going to kill. These people may get caught after only their first or second killing instead of their 12th. ....but they still exist. ...and they definitely still exist in poorer countries, where you can get away with almost anything.
@daviddemaria3982

@clicheguevara5282 they acted with impunity when they knew they could get away with it. That no longer exists. Who is a present-day serial killer in this country? There are none. Nothing like the 70s and 80s.

It’s so unfortunate Talia Shapiro’s parents didn’t help her testify with some precautions. And the people responsible for letting him out early after only 3 years are in hell. No doubt Purgatory & Hell to his accomplices who pretended to be lawful.

It seems like they could have charged him with rape and kidnapping without the child being a witness. There was evidence of the other driver who followed Alcala and forensic evidence of rape. Even if she had "willingly" gone with him- she was a child and could not consent to go with a stranger, and he had no right to take her.

I have always heard about this man but never heard the whole of his crime. I didn’t know there were this many women. My dad instilled in me at a young age how evil people are and to always look out for yourself. Growing up with a bus load of brothers taught me how to take care of myself. I can honestly say I’ve saved myself from a few close calls. I always rely on my inner voice and try to always listen to it.
