The writer of this song has sadly passed away today. His name was Raymond Froggatt. He also wrote songs for Cliff Richard, among others. R.I.P. Raymond

Apparently this song became a burden to him in later years

Love this with Dave actually taking a sweet lead vocal although Mike Smith a great singer gets some additional soul in there. DC5 made great sounding records and for beat pop and rock & roll, were up there, as they rocked the record machines and were also melodic. Exciting “live”too by reputation and big in The States. A word now about the composer here, Raymond Frogatt. Never was there a better British Country performer. His album Live in Birmingham Froggie will testify to that and stands up well against a Country Rock band from anywhere. I was gutted here in the South a gig was called off so missed him twice but do at least have the records. Chris Newman, Southampton UK 🇬🇧

I love Dave's voice. Very British and very melodic. Though I love to hear Mike Smith sing and belt out a song, I truly enjoyed sitting here listening to Dave's wonderful voice. ❤

I've never seen this video before so thank you for posting. Despite it being a big hit for them in the UK (#7) I suspect Dave Clark isn't too fond of it as he's not included it on either of their two most recent compilation albums (and they don't release many!). I don't care if he likes it or not, I do!

Well some say DC5 called it a day too soon . I disagree . They were basically for the 60s even though they went as far as 71 . I’d like the fact that Dave kept them from getting dark , druggy , or dirty . Well at least image wise
