Koch produces and develops a lot of filtration systems including carbon capture and emissions filters. As one of the earliest “Libertarians” he’s in all likelihood for organic farming, against using government force to restrict non-organic farming. Definitely for unions, as the right to free association is a basic tenet of libertarianism. Science, uhh they use the scientific method a lot at Koch Industries, I feel like there is a more specific question there. As far as “evidence based economic and political systems”, I think you would have to define that further.

I’ve lived in Wichita, Ks 25 yrs. I was familiar with the Koch legacy, but really didn’t know or understand the internal strife this family went through since childhood. I just happened to read the book, “Sons of Wichita”. Wow! It’s riveting!! Charles is savey and resilient, that’s why he’s survived. He’s been though hell and back with his family. It’s so very sad. @@JosedeJezeus You seem to be a good person but you have to do more research, the problem is more articulated, i will take a little time to give you some really basic insight (studied finance). Capitalism is capitalism, it does not exist with or without limits, it either is capitalism or it isn't. Billionaires are not inherently a bad thing, being that it is a pretty neutral thing, it is just a number, a measure, it doesn't provide any other information in itself you are not a good person till you have 999999999.99 of whatever you like and then suddenly become evil. Now i will try to explain. What we have now is not "pure" capitalism, it is a mixed system where finance has an overwhelming part over everything else , this is due to a number of reasons which are really too long to discuss here, but just to give you an example one is artificially low interest rates. Finance by its own definition should serve to allocate the capital efficiently from those who have more than they can or will use to those who will use it PRODUCTIVELY. Using money productively means creating running and expanding a business which creates real value, which is a really different thing from money which is just a measure : consider Amazon, it does provide the services it provides, does research, creates new products and services etc even if today the price of the stock is 10% lower than yesterday because of a market correction, the net worth of Jeff Bezos will be 10% lower though (because billionaire's net worth is in things, usually their business's stocks, not in cash as some people think) Now, the problem with finance is that it has gone far beyond this and a great deal of money in finance is in worthless (but not priceless) paper such as overly complex derivatives. This Finance craze which is going on since more than a couple decades is detrimental to normal people and artificially inflates (mainly trough low rates which are a bit more recent though) the prices of assets such as stocks but bear in mind as i said to you beforehand it is not real wealth, it is just a number who goes up completely decoupled from any real meaning, it is paper, this will make billionaires apparently richer (what happened in the last year) but it is not true, just a number. The guy above here (Koch) runs a private company, meaning that his stocks aren't listed on exchanges, you can't buy them, so they aren't inflated, if all businesses where hypothetically private he would be much richer than many tech billionaires because their net worth would be based on fundamentals and not on demand inflated stocks. so, finally, being a billionaire is not inherently bad, it is the consequence of running well a great business and being able to retain a decent share of your company (which you shouldn't oppose if you are really pro capitalism), what is bad is uncontrolled finance which has artificially inflated prices but billionaires would still be billionaires, albeit worth less money on paper. This because they create value for society.

Jesus warned us about the corrupting influence of money of power when he said: *"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.* There is a common personality trait in the rich: Narcissism. Narcissists believe they are genetically superior, and they see free market capitalism as a form of natural selection. They don't believe in a social safety net and free healthcare for the poor, because they see the poor as genetically inferior, and they believe we should let nature take it's course with them. -"Let them die prematurely, let them be malnourished, because they are genetically inferior anyways." Why didn't Trump & Kushner care that Coronavirus spread throughout the country? Because coronavirus kills the poor more than any other group of people; it kills the peasants, the undesirables, "the genetically inferior," and the rich think that's FINE. They see it as a way of "thinning the herd," natural selection, improving the human race. This is the philosophy of Ayn Rand. This is the true justification of the free market system. Is this what you believe?

"Wealth inequality" is one of the many useless, resentful and divisive pieces of rethoric of the postmodernist left (the main reason for which the US is so divided is the relevance and power this kind of culture got in many strategic institutions such as accademia and media, with the consequent push to the far right of many people who didn't agree, social media also plays a big role but let's leave it here). Wealth inequality has always existed and will always exist and it is not a problem in itself. It would be a problem if we had a sisted such as feudalism where there is no real value creation, therefore neccessarily the gain of one is the loss of another (or many others typically), fortunately this is not the case, there is enough value and consequently money to be created for everyone albeit not equally shared. As long as everyone can effortlessly make ends meet and have what he needs who cares if someone else is 1mln times richer, i mean good for him/her as long as it is a function of having created value. But why isn't this the case? The problem is again more articulated and complex but it wouldn't fit a great newspaper or newschannel title so it is easyer to blame the rich, the problem includes mainly the education system and many other things, i encourage you to research it if you are interested, don't believe in easy and sensationalistic solutions wich rely on emotions: the world is complicated.
