From bugged Dawning weapons to Eververse store Eva Levante still missing her head, And soon the community was filled with more dread "This game is cooked," cried Destiny players, "You'll make us pay more for YOUR screw-up endeavors?" "Very well," said the devs as they removed the card, "Those who got it free, not one cent will you pay. Though after this fix the rest will find it not hard, to shill out 10 bucks on this Dawning day." After twenty-four hours this Dawning's still trash, Money is flowing yet glitches still pass, Yet the dev team exclaimed as they breaked for the year, "Happy Dawning to all, and screw all of your cheer!"

The number of bugs since Revenant started are inexcusable and I agree with your comment about the layoffs. Things are jacked up on the screen, loading locations and events is super slow and I don't think it's worth it to buy another Destiny release in the future. Assassin's Creed might get another play through. These people...

Biggest bug for me is event card not progressing some things. Being buggy is basically standard and the fact that anyone is ever surprised by that, surprises me. Them taking the event card out because it was bugged and listed for free then still saying "oh oops those that didnt take advantage of that can keep it but F the rest of you HaPpY DaWnInG" is just insulting.

It feels more and more like players are the QA team now. Mine was all buggy when I started. I switch around characters to get the first quest and then still had to get some of the ingredients on my own. I’m just not sure it’s really worth it this year.

Another very juicy and pretty fun bug is the game softlocking you out of the quest if you had full Dawning Spirit and then got your progress reset. After the quest resets and locks you out of everything, you're prompted to bake a cookie for Zavala and give it to him (which works) and then report back to Eva to open up the remaining recipes in the oven, as well as bounties, focusing and buying the upgrades. However, reporting back to Eva doesn't work if you're at 999 Spirit, since she gives you Spirit for talking to her, which you can't claim since you're maxed out. Exiting out of the dialog doesn't help, as it doesn't finish the queststep, so any avenue to spend Dawning Spirit remains locked until you do finish the queststep that you literally can't finish due to not being able to claim the Dawning Spirit reward from Eva. I wonder how it's even possible to cock up a literal copy-paste event like that. I don't want to grind anything Dawning related right now, because I don't even know if the game keeps track of any non-gjallardoodle ingredients and if it does, I don't know if Bungie will just reset them once they finally fix the softlock.

My orb generating build out was preventing me from getting weapon specific ingredients (e.g. Sharp Flavor) Instead, they counted as element & orb kills. Strikes getting more bugs. Last night had all game sound muted except explosions & music in 1 strike 🤔

A foot wide and an inch deep. That’s what these events are in a nutshell. Mind-numbing busywork milestones that require you to kill a certain amount of enemies with a certain elemental damage or repeating a certain playlist over and over, all the cool stuff locked behind the Eververse, npcs not acknowledging the event with grandma having a small few lines. The whole model feels like one giant hamster wheel/ Skinner box designed exclusively for whales.

I can't help but feel at this point some of this falls on the Dev team, I'm pretty sure how ever bad Pete Parsons is, he isn't telling them to release things in such a buggy state people don't want to play it and its not like this is a new event, they've done 4-5 years now, they should have it down by now. But I guess you cant have a D2 release with out a bucket full of bugs

5:20 I did notice the drop rate for the ingredients to be low, never seen the Dawning this buggy ever. One has to think all those layoffs during the year is affecting the game unfortunately.

They must have fixed a few of the dawning stuff because I managed to progress everything ok. As for the tonics, it's annoying if you switch character or turn the game off, the timer on them keeps going. I've been using them mainly for boosts to artifact abilities and some of the legendary ones are pretty good but it needs to be more streamlined getting ingredients and they need to last longer.

Me personally - Having issues with ignitions again. It's throwing immune icons on orange and red bar enemies and also strikes are bugged for me no audio at all except when i pick up a snowball and throw it and when my health gets critical but even then it is just the sound effect for those things no dialogue, music, etc.

I'm locked out of Dawning!! I made Zavala a cookie and when I went to give it to him it disappeared. And the quest is over. Cannot get any ingredients. Bungie fired all the techs that could fix this. Thanks Sony/Bungie!!!! BAA Humbug!!!

My Winters Night quest isn't counting snow ball kills. I've got the cookies not counting bug as well. If Dawning weapons are supposed to randomly drop, after about 8hrs of play I haven't got a single one.

I have stopped trying to do the missions and just focusing on banshee missions. As a solo player it's just getting too hard to play the story board. Not buying anything else and just going to free play for now on.

There are many costs that have to be accounted for in a software release: concepting something compelling; designing the mechanisms and balancing the numbers to make the concept into a functional design; coding and implementation of the design numbers; testing the implementation against the design, against existing requirements, and in concert with previous code; and releasing the code to the live environment. If you cheap out on one or more of these areas, you get poor quality. It seems to me that events are revenue drivers that need to maximize conversion while minimizing outlay. So in this instance I imagine an afternoon of concepting by 2 people, art assets made for the new gun and armor by a small art team here and there over the last quarter, then maybe a week by one or two devs to hook it all up and test it themselves, assuming that the code from last year still works so you save on test time. You look at last year’s Dawning ARPU, forecast the glidepath of player count decline and spend decline over the last 12-24 months, and project a revenue for the event. Some percentage of that revenue is your budget for development, because the rest has to be profit, and then you start making choices. I wonder if D2 event revenue is way down, or maybe if the development budget is being squeezed by needs/demands for more profitability.

DROP RATES ARE ABYSMAL ! Ran the lost sector on Nessus 3 times for Vex Milk - not one drop ! (pun intended) Had to go to the opening of "Spire" and even then it took a while before I got 1 Vex Milk. So it seems you must be in "higher" content. And don't even get me started on "Essence of Dawdling"

Thank god I won’t be doing this mess of an event/season for next few weeks. Off to Singapore and Bali on Saturday morning. Only things I’ll be doing is my 2 weekly dungeons on my hunter and lock. Hopefully this week will be the week I finally get icebreaker. Almost 20 runs done and no icebreaker. As for the event??, didn’t get a chance to get the card but have heard the people that did get it, get to keep it. What a joke, should be everyone getting it not just a select few.
