Everything was in Alcaraz favor? Really? Going at only 18 years old against Nadal, an all time great who, while not in his absolute prime anymore, is still competitive enough to win TWO grand slams in 2022? How is that even comparable to young Nadal, on his way to winning just about everything, beating a guy who had won ONE single grand slam, five years before? I'm not saying Moya is a nobody but it's just a lot less of a stretch for young Nadal to beat Moya than for young Alcaraz to beat Nadal. Time will come, Alcaraz is great but give the kid a few years to really develop his tennis, he has the potential but he also still has things to improve...

Amazing, how classic were his strikes at that time, no arm over the head in the forehand and no ticks before serving.

Why Rafa is so good? Because he is playing high level 20 years ago

Nadal would turn 17... in 15 days Not to take anything from Nadal.... But they practiced together all the time.... it was The Perfect Storm, all the pressure was on Moya nothing on Rafa

Moya won Roland Garros 5 years earlier and bacause they used to practice together Nadal would be no surprise for him also. The way you say it almost makes it sound like it was a fluke. Even with the 21Slams this lucky kid ended up winning.

@@VelhaGuardaTricolor No. Moya won RG 5 years before this match.

@@feri7mble Correct! I don't know where I got Moya winning Roland Garros in 2003 from. Thanks for the correction.

Really interessting! Back then, Nadal had a totally different serve and played more flat, especially with his forehand.

only injuries prevented him of winning Roland Garros at 17 or 18 years old .

Is unreal that Nadal was on tour 20 years , to think of it even with the injuries he have and the setbacks unbelievable.

0:33 begs to differ. Watch it in slomo. Yet, I understand your point. Most of his shots(just like he said) used to hit flat.

With another amazing player Federer on the ATP circuit, probably the extreme talent of this little boy remained unrecognised for some time, till he proved it forcefully enough for the world to see.
