In fact, he was part of the first generation of Nigerian elites to pilfer the nation's coffers through his military connections. PTT contract in 1971 through Muritala ( Minster of Telecom) and then ITT inflated contract earned him $100m (N80 million) in 1975. This led to a massive investigation that saw the NET building set ablaze. The top floors that were affected housed the accounting facilities where most of the records were kept. Highly respected and clearly won the elections, and while I won't rule out foul play, I also believe Karma caught up with him. I'm Yoruba but just keeping it 100.

I am a medic (you may be too, though I am not certain) and having watched the videos on how Abacha and MKO died, I am inclined to believe the former probably had an MI (heart attack) while MKO could have suffered a pulmonary embolism.
