My mom used to love playing guitar and sing when she was a teenager and young adult. But then my brother came... At 3 years old, my mom was playing guitar for him. My brother said: "Stop, mom. Just stop it, mom." My mom never played guitar again. Kids can ruin your dreams! lol (btw, my brother taught himself how to play on that same guitar, when he was a teenager).

Becoming a dad made me judge the way my parents parented so much less. I see how difficult it is and how someone could be so overwhelmed that I can’t even blame them for their mistakes. I was able to learn and see that it’s never a competition to parent better but just to do better for your child. I think that’s the best thing I could’ve ever learned.

My parents used to spank the hell out of me with the belt. Recently, when she was visiting in July 2024, she tearfully apologized for whuping me with the belt as a kid. I told her, "It's ok. I was a bad little 💩. I needed some sense whupped into me, but if you need it, then I forgive you." My mom 👉🏻😭💗. She then spent the rest of the week spoiling me like I've never been spoiled before, i.e. buying me food, medicines, gasoline , clothes-all offered by her. She even cleaned my whole downstairs, including the refrigerator! 😲

Every time my dad did a shitty thing or made a fucked up decision having anything to do with me (and there were a fucking lot of shitty things, I have serious trust issues and self esteem and image issues that still greatly effect me to this day) his favourite thing to say when I would get upset or ask why he did/was doing xyz, was that “one day when you grow up have kids of your own you will understand and realise I’m right”, well I’m pushing 30 now so definitely ’all grown up’ and I’m the mum to a wonderful 3yo boy so have a kid of my own, and each and every day I understand his actions and choices less and less and realise he was wrong more and more, which I fucking saying something as I never understood and always thought he was wrong, even as a little kid.

Taika is mischievous. Two really memorable moments were when Taika grabbed the camera off the counter, turned it on and had Geo chasing him trying to get it back. lol He ran into the bathroom with it and caught Bart in the shower. 😂 And another time they were trying to put Taika to bed, yet he kept asking them where their phones were and they couldn't figure out why. Then when they went to grab their phones, they realized Taika hid their phones without them knowing it. lol Geo had to use her Apple watch to track the phone. Turns out Taika hid them in his play kitchen. 😂
