The great 1400 Kms trek across a province to get my transmission repaired.
My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after t11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.

I have rented from Karma a bunch of times because I don't have my own van yet... two things I will point out. Their curtains don't offer a lot of privacy. Particularly the rear. I bring a bunch of magnets to seal the side door curtain better and a safety blanket that I use magnets to cover the rear windows at night. Also there is no fridge and the power in the van kicks out occasionally when you plug extra stuff in (I tried a small cooler/fridge). Make sure you ask them how to reset the power... there used to be two red buttons - one behind the bottom drawer in the kitchen and one under the hood on the right rear of the engine compartment. I think in the newer vans they eliminated the one behind the drawer. Anyhoo, you will enjoy their vans I am sure. It will be a great way for you to try out a different configuration, and they have all the basics covered in them. They are quite comfortable. I recommend them to friends.

Hey chrome, quick comment if you’re driving at night and there was nobody else around before you get to the red light if you flash your highbeams at it, it will turn green because there is a signal catcher on top of the traffic lights. It’s there so that ambulances and cop cars can flash their lights at the intersection and the light will automatically turn green so that could save you from slowing down. Canada might run different than the United States so I could be wrong.

• hmm , never heard of a "general traffic" system like that in the U.S. • Maybe some of the early systems 25 years ago. But since then most systems here require an optical transmitter / _programable_ _strobe_ on the apparatus , specifically to *_prevent_* the average driver from doing that. • i do know of some gated communities that have / had a similar simple system as backups.

2023 is certainly an interesting year for all of us. I've had to deal with some carpenter ants, mice, a collapsing back deck (dangerous), water heater dying (no more baths! What?!) had ants in an AirBnB so stayed 10 days in a hotel (2k) and didnt get a refund, and my cat just had a urinary blockage (1900$) plus i lost my main job. Ugh. But we're still here (my cat is fine now) and we're hella still coming to Vancouver in a month. Life is an adventure for sure and being KZbinrs we have the privilège to share our mishaps and get support along the way. WEIRDOS UNITE! 💜

That's a no brainer, camper van 💯 I don't think you're the type of person that would be able to sit idle in a hotel room for 10 days, especially if you have the opportunity to rent a high top camper van and try something new.
