Seriously he’s the only player I constantly keep seeing doing unbelievable comebacks almost frequently
@Grainsworth Жыл бұрын
To be fair, that is a Djokovic specialty, and Nadal has less comebacks from 2 sets to 0 in grand slams than any other member of the big 4, never mind big 3
@anseinueseima40810 ай бұрын
@@Grainsworth Djokovic's comeback always features players weaker than him, where he shouldnt even be 0-2 down, examples being Sinner wimbledon 2022 and Djere US open 2023. Nadal always comeback from way tougher conditions, either he hasnt played for long time or his opponent currently in better form. Nadal's comeback is always the most inspiring and unimaginable, whereas Djokovic's comeback is mostly his redemption of mistakes earlier in the match. Incredible that he and Medvedev had two brilliant matches in the ATP finals where each came back from the brink of defeat. Medvedev paid back the favor in 2020 when Nadal won set 1 and serving for the match in set 2.
@AnthonyHirsch2 жыл бұрын
@@z1az285 yeah that's true, it's almost like inverted versions of the same match, and in the AO final Nadal made another miraculous comeback against Medvedev and it's actually v similar to the US Open Final in 2019 for Medvedev except ofc Nadal actually completed the comeback.. It's funny , their whole head to head, five matches now, if u go backwards is almost completely inverted lol, if Medvedev wins the next match easily then their whole head to head front to back will basically be inverted: straight set victory by one, out of nowhere two sets to love come back in slam final to even it, and ATP finals comeback from nowhere two years back to back. doesn't mean anything and is obviously coincidental but kinda funny.

After watching all these years of tennis, it won't be wrong to say Nadal is the best ever in the tennis courts. Like the tactician Ali, in boxing, Nadal finds ways to beat his opponents. If not for his constant injuries, he would have won many more Grand Slams. If all the losses esp the semis and finals in the Grandslams, as have been noticed, were mainly due to lack of adequate or no training and preparation due to prior injuries. It is no joke to come back from the brink of defeat and win the match. How he did It? Australian Open 2022 is one prime example. Youngsters must learn from Nadal as how to recover from failure and make success in life.

Tiene Nadal el mejor servicio? No. El mejor resto? No. El mejor drive?

experience is everything. medvedev cracked under pressure. played well in the beginning and then began missing more shots as match point came close (you notice his strokes were getting sloppier two games to match point and he just stopped trying thinking he was going to get the win). Nadal's had far more wins and court time at higher level gameplay which means he's more consistent when it comes down to critical times. This comeback was great though. GJ nadal.
@winterlogical2 жыл бұрын
I agree. I think part of what helped Medvedev in the US Open Final (besides that he is a very good player) was that Novak was equally under so much pressure and not playing his best tennis. This is not to discredit Medvedev - to win a grand slam in this era is an extremely difficult achievement. I just mean it helps when your opponent is under even more immense pressure to get a calendar slam lol! Also, Nadal leads the head to head with Medvedev 5 to 1 now so I wonder if there's something about Nadal's resilience and refusal to be put down that Medvedev has a hard time overcoming.

@@winterlogical Nadal's mental game is very hard to crack. Even more so back in his prime years ago when he had both agility and strength.
