This shows how historically Real Madrid has been a team built by its formative institutions, like now are Barcelona or Liverpool. The origin of its greatness, besides a few particular signings like Di Stefano or Puskas, was its cabability to form outstanding talents. The entire generation of Butragueño, also Paco Gento, Juanito, Raúl, Santillana... and this absolutely proves it. That's why I'm not a fan of Florentino Pérez's "only big signings" policy, the guy literally wrecked down the huge formative institution of Madrid to build a f***ing call center. Of course in today's era a club like Madrid can just resupply what it doesn't produce by signing players, but the love and representation of those players for the club will never be the same as a youth player. That causes cases like Bale and its "Wales, Golf, Madrid", and many other notable acts of disrecpect to the club by its players, and having to raise the price of entry to the stadium exponentially to pay for players you could mostly be producing yourself, leaving the middle and low class pretty much out of their own club. I don't like it, is all.

Not many young fans know about this story and neither would I, if I hadn't read about it in magazines and football encyclopedias, but those who know it regard it as undoubtedly one of the craziest feats in Spanish football history. To be honest, it was one of the strongest generations Real Madrid's youth system had ever produced and Castilla didn't only reach the cup final in 1980, but four years later it also became the only reserve team to ever win the title in Spain's second division. In fact, that 83-84 season also saw Athletic Bilbao's B team finishing 2nd in the league, which meant that it'd actually be the 3rd, 4th and 5th-placed teams (the first non-reserve teams) that would be promoted to the first division. Also, I feel the need to clarify this, but I miss a little bit of more clarity when explianing the last part of the video, because in that season when they reached the cup final neither Di Stéfano was Castilla's manager nor the players you mentioned (Butragueño, Martín Vázquez, Pardeza, Sanchís and Míchel, the ones who are still known today as "La Quinta del Buitre") were in the team, but they would be when they won the second division title and would later define an era of Spanish football in the 80s. Ultimately, it is what you said: feats like this are never to be seen again. And in this case, it's not just because of how improbable and heroic they are, but also because the system has literally made them impossible to happen (said in a descriptive way, it's not a critic). We can see other great cup stories from clubs like Alavés, Alcorcón, Mirandés, Alcoyano... but never again from a reserve squad.

Funny thing is B teams in Fifa /EAFC can play there 1st teams I once had a copa del rey final FC Barcelona B vs Barcelona I was the B team we won against Prime Barcelona who had the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Wayne Rooney, Manuel Neuer ect it was basically a dream team. This was back on fifa 12 they AI signed some insane for the 1st team our B team was pretty good we where getting 1st team players and giving the main Barca money we had like fabregas and a 40 year old puyol +some other assortment of talent we won the final 1 - 0 because of puyol being subbed on and scoring the winning penalty in injury time. It's fun playing carrer mode and being B teams Barca B, real madrid B, villareal B, werder bremen II, bayern II, BVB II ect

@@pitchinvadersza only on FC/Fifa it's possible for the 1st team to play with the B teams on FM it's IRL B/C teams can't play in the league the 1st teams in so in Spain highest your getting with real madrid B is second division and highest in Germany is 3 liga the 3rd division with a reserve side. On FC25 Hannover 96 II, VFB stuttgart II, BVB II are the 3 reserve sides in the game there is no Spanish reserve sides in this years game due to Villareal B relegation.

The Real Madrid Castilla wasn't really a reserve team. It was (and it is already) the first youth team of the club. In 1980's Real Madrid Castilla played the likes of Emilio Butragueño, Michel, Chendo, Gallego or Rafa Benitez. And Griezmann? No way
