What did that message mean in the ending? Was the police officer really trying to help until something happened?

If you look at the lotus sign on the wall in the weird tunnel, you see the lotus cult icon, along with it saying "accept the truth". The officer is apart of the cult, and the two guys behind the officer are with them aswell. If you look closely in the back of the church, they blocked the door with a car. The knome... is apart of something bigger that will be revealed in more episodes of this series
