Agreed.. Deen's voice and soulfulness is very very close to Perry...as a male vocalist I've always been a HUGE Steve Perry fan..I copied him as much as he did Sam Cooke.. I'm definitely not knocking Augeri or Arnel they are GREAT singers but not quite on the level of Deen or Perry IMHO

Scott Bivins Yeah, I’m wondering why they didn’t make him the lead singer. He has a great voice. Sure he’s a great drummer but it’s hard to find a truly great singer. FFS they could have gotten another drummer. I could’ve done it. I don’t have nearly the voice Deen has. A pale shadow. Maybe low harmonies.

Deen rockin' it as usual, awesome voice and can beat them skins so greatly while doing the vocals. Between John & Deen they can cover pretty much any quality rock song very easily. John can play that 12 string really well also.

@@rodneylee4026 I never said he should have played it with a latin feel, his overall feel was just off. Walfredo Reyes doesn't sound Latin with Chicago, Lenny doesn't sound latin with Toto, Luis Conte doesn't sound latin with Phil Collins. His performance there wasn't up to par with his caliber as a musician and singer, vocally he smashed it though
